thanks alaska state justice department
i think that it is great that you gave this great american the opportunity to avoid jail time for vandalising school buses by serving in iraq. if only more criminals were given this opportunity the country would indeed be a better place. perhaps he will find himself serving with alaska senator ted stevens or his mother if any one of the myriad investigations into her abuse of power come to fruition.
Sarah Palin's Son Track Stars in Iraq
We are grateful for your service, Track Palin.
It is shame your mother couldnt carry herself with the same dignity as you do. Heaven forbid if she ever gets into higher office at the White House or close to the White House. You will probably be out of service (she will make sure that happens for sure) but she will send more young lifes to be wasted.
Renewed Respect
The wars which the US have been fighting fot the past 50+ years are wars which fo rht emost part could be settled in a different manner.
1. We choose the wrong person to support
2. No understanding of the culture, people and or history of other countries.
3. "The war on terror", will not be won at the end of a rifle.
4. The generals fighting should have thought long time ago, to implement a plan to set the Sunnis on ther side in Iraq.
5. The US could have walk away from Iraq after the fall of Saddam and his sons and turn the power over to the militiary and Ba'ath Party. Now, we are fighting the war over again.
6. Paul Bremmer (remember him!)is fully responsible for the situation we now find ourselves in Iraq.
7. If there is another conflict, we will not have another country to support us?
8. It cannot be, You are with us or against us". It does not work.
9. We were not prepared for Iraq.
10. We started the war in Iraq and we failed our troops by not having them prepared.
11. We do not know how to win the peace.
12. And, yes, the, "War" in Iraq is just beginning.
13. We cannot fight our way to solve every situation.
14. Yes, we have a military of excellent men and women, we are using them incorrectly.
Sarah Palin's Son Track Stars in Iraq
Though, I am not a Sarah Palin fan, I wish her son the very best and return home with his entire unit safely.
I once served in war for 2 1/2 years and it is not fun. Further, I lived in the Middle East many years ago, and that is also no fun.
Track Palin and the Troops
I tip my hat and offer my sincere prayers for the safety of Track Palin and all the troops.
I have voted for Barack Obama because I believe in his message and abilities.
God be with us all.

About facts
For those who think the worst about Obama...you really need to do a little more research and get your facts straight. For example:
FACT CHECK: Does group McCain chairs have link to Columbia professor Khalidi?
Posted: 05:34 PM ET
The Statement
The campaign of Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama, on Wednesday, October 29, responded to Republican opponent Sen. John McCain criticism of Obama's relationship with Rashid Khalidi, an Arab studies professor at Columbia University, by suggesting that McCain also had a link to Khalidi. It said, "John McCain should answer why, under his own chairmanship, the International Republican Institute repeatedly funded an organization Khalidi founded, the Center for Palestine Research and Studies, over the course of many years."
Get the facts!
The Facts
McCain and vice presidential candidate Gov. Sarah Palin have raised the issue of Barack Obama's relationship with Khalidi, a scholar who has been critical of Israel and U.S. foreign policy. Palin, on October 29 in Ohio, described him as a "radical professor from the neighborhood who spent a lot of time with Barack Obama going back several years." She also called him a "political ally" of Obama.
Obama knows Khalidi from their days in Chicago, but his campaign says he "has been clear and consistent on his support for Israel, and has been clear that Rashid Khalidi is not an adviser to him or his campaign and that he does not share Khalidi's views."
Since 1993, McCain has been chairman of the International Republican Institute — a nonprofit and nonpartisan group that helps promote democratic practices and institutions across the globe.
The IRI, in an October 29 press release, said it "gave grants" to the Center for Palestinian Research and Studies for polling in the Palestinian territories of the West Bank and Gaza. The IRI said its "relationship with CPRS ended in 2000, and we understand that it no longer exists."
"We understand that Rashid Khalidi was one of the many founders of CPRS, and we understand that he was for some (unclear) amount of time a board member," the IRI said.
A defunct CPRS Web site lists Khalidi was one of the seven people who founded the group in March 1993. CPRS described itself as "an independent academic research and policy analysis institution."
"Because CPRS is independent of political factions, it is in a unique position of being able to serve as a forum for meetings of Palestinian and international researchers from various political backgrounds and ideologies in a free academic and professional atmosphere," the group said.
Michael Goldfarb, a McCain spokesman, told CNN on October 29 that "John McCain has never met Rashid Khalidi, while Barack Obama has acknowledged a close friendship with him."
***The Verdict: TRUE. There was a relationship in the 1990s between the IRI, chaired by McCain, and the CPRS, co-founded by Khalidi, which received IRI funding.***

Renewed respect
Having been a soldier during the Viet Nam War, respect was lost because of the opposition to the war here in America. I am glad and hopeful that our American troops are being allowed to show the skill, and compassion they have to the people of Iraq and Afgahnistan. It will be terrible if all our lost lives are wasted by leaving those countries before the job is done. Remember our soldiers stayed in Japan for 10 years after WWII.
I pray and I hope that Obama is the hope and change that will turn our American image around. Bush has defamed us, in the eyes of the world. I pray that every soldier comes home soon with the respect they deserve. We need to build our own country again, so that we can help the rest of the world see a better light. We are slipping, we need to change what is important, our race as humans, has never been in more trouble than it is today. No matter what god you believe in, we are all children of this world, and I want my children to have a decent future, no more carbon!!!! We need to be responsible so that other countries will follow.Put more money in the issues that guide the future not the past. Oil should be put behind us.Let us think with our hearts for a change instead of our wallets.
