You're doing a great thing... I am behind the Obama campaign 100%. Though forgiveness should be given with either outcome. The struggles we've all been facing have resulted in a lot of negative acts. Let the future bring a positive shine on our country.
Shepard Fairey's Obama HOPE paintings
Very important correction:
"Fairey is exhibiting a limited-edition Obama poster (originally commissioned for hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons) alongside other works at Washington gallery Irvine Contemporary's politically themed exhibit, "Regime Change Starts at Home.""
The work in the exhibition at Irvine Contemporary is the last of 3 unique hand-collaged and hand-stenciled paintings at 44 x 60 in. It is not a poster, and it was not commissioned for Russell Simmons. Fairey usually does 3-4 unique hand finished paintings of images that he creates. Simmons bought the second of the three unique Obama HOPE paintings at a benefit auction. Fairey does many images as screen prints and posters. All of the work in the "Regime Change Start at Home" exhibition are unique, hand-finished, works using imagery he has created, much like the unique works of Andy Warhol that use his imagery in multiple ways.
