Washington Whispers by Paul Bedard

Stars Come Out for Barack Obama and Sarah Palin

October 14, 2008 03:03 PM ET | Paul Bedard, Nikki Schwab | Permanent Link | Print

With three weeks until Election Day, the stars are coming out for the McCain and Obama campaigns, and our Whispers campaign team hit the road over the weekend to bring you pictures of the highlights. In Arkansas, our Suzi Parker found Sen. Hillary Clinton with old pals and TV biggies Ted Danson and wife Mary Steenburgen touting Sen. Barack Obama. Hillary singled out one of the signs in the crowd of 3,000: "My favorite: Chelsea's momma for Obama."

Farther north, in Johnstown, Pa., our Nikki Schwab attended a "Victory Rally" with Gov. Sarah Palin Saturday morning. Palin was introduced by country music artist Aaron Tippin, who performed his new single "Drill Here, Drill Now!" for the raucous crowd. "I get the chance to introduce a lady who is finally one of us," he said before Palin took to the stage with kids Piper, Willow, and Trig in tow. Palin backed off the harsher criticism of Obama and instead focused mainly on the issues of energy and abortion.

Help the disabled - II

To BILL of MO and Quintin Jordon of IL:

I feel for the disabled. However, it should be family, friends, benevolent organizations, churches, nonprofit groups, etc. who bear the large load for assisting those in need. (Like it used to be) Our constitution does not allow for our government to guarantee medical assistance, etc. for anyone. Once we start piling on 'guarantees' that the government must provide, then it is a downhill slope to the point where the government is relied upon to provide EVERTHING! People want the government to provide health care, retirement, drugs, insurance, education, pre-school care, welfare, and anything else they feel they deserve or want. Too many people think privileges are rights. I could go on..

The reality is this: we can spend trillions of dollars to fight a war thousands of miles from home that was based on a false premise and outright LIES.

But we cannot find the money to fix our health care, schools, roads & infrastructure, right here at home??

Tell me it aint so John & Sarah!!!!!

Obama 08

People fail to realize that Iraq stock market is booming and look at the United States stock market!!! Look where our tax dollars are going. To a country who is getting richer and richer off of hard working tax payers money.
