Washington Whispers by Paul Bedard

Sarah Palin Vs. President Barack Obama in 2012?

Many Republicans aren’t happy with the direction of the 2008 election and are already looking ahead to the 2010 congressional contest and the 2012 presidential election where they expect to see Sen. John McCain’s running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, as the nominee running against President Barack Obama. Don’t laugh. Here’s how they say she can get there from here, should the polls stick and McCain lose in November. First, Palin spends more time in Washington, getting to know the lay of the land. Maybe she moves to take a leadership role in the Republican Governors Association or the National Governors Association, a perch that helped to launch Bill Clinton. Next, she travels internationally to world energy and military hot spots. In essence, she builds a more complete résumé that will make her an easier sell on the national stage. And, of course, she wins re-election in 2010. And along the way, she proves herself better than this year’s throwaways, Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney. Says a key Republican promoting the scenario: “As of today, Palin is the top contender. She clearly has the potential to be a winning top-of-the-ticket candidate: solid character, solid values, fire in the belly, etc. But four years is a long time. Neither Romney, Huckabee, or others have the complete package. If Palin spends a bit more time traveling overseas and domestically, broadening her horizons, and wins re-election in Alaska in 2010, she will be the nominee in 2012.”

Sarah /President

I can't believe some of the idiotic comments posted here. You must all be deceived Obama supporter. I doubt if you like Christians either, but that is of little concern, at least most of us had the discernment not to vote for such a deceiver. I will support Palin, at least she is not a good old boy politician. I do wish she would drop the Republicans though, and support the Independents. I'm still angry with the way that McCains back room boys reigned her in. Let her write her own speeches, and say what she believes. She does not need to be told what to say. I will support her all the way.

Sarah Palin for President? Really!

Along with Limbaugh, and Fox News’s Hannity and Beck, she certainly is and will continue to be a rebel rouser for, and will represent the values of, the Republican Party. However, she should never be considered for the office of President of the United States of America.

And, for that matter, I don’t see where she does anything positive to advance the authentic positions of the Republican Party.

Obama is out and Palin is in

I voted for Obama and regret my decision as an Independant. It is clear to me now that all Presidint Obama is good at is making speeches. Hillary was right, all Obama can do is talk. He offers only tax increases, massive health care spending, cap and trade & Czars with Marxist backgrounds. Obama doesn't have a clue and niether does his lacky Tim Giethner. Sarah has my vote in 2012.
