Debate as Scheduled, Barack Obama's Team Urges John McCain
Reader Comments
We don't need the debates nearly as much as we need this bailout right now.
Obama's comment about how he can do two things at once was unnecessary.
Sure, you could do two things at once, but which needs the more attention?
The bailout or the debate?
Which is more important?
The debates can be delayed till a later time.
This bailout can't wait.
McCain
All we heard from McCaine was "ME_=<ME<ME><I<I<I>
Nothing about US!!! He is the #2 (Bush is 1st) upmost ignorant, sarcastic, and self worshiping human we ever have run across.
What happened to US.........he only talked about himself....I pray to God he will NOT be elected. Our biggest fear is he will not only carry on Bush's years......it will be worse.......he will start more wars....with Iran, Korea, etc.!
We are scared to death! If he is elected....our Grandson may not be alive to have children of his own. WHY can't the people of this country have some 'common sense'!!

fact checking
Everything the Candidates said at the debates is now on the table and is subject to scrutiny.I think John McCain made a mistake at the end of the debate when he said he loved the military. yet voted agains ligislation that would help the men in uniform.Check out Jim Webb's bills. Also he braged about his pertisipation in the bipartisan hearings on the M.I.A.I remember thos hearings and McCain was brutal on those m.i.a.'s family members. Also he admitted that the america tortures.
Debates as Scheduled
It's odd to think the (potentially) future leader of the free world would seek to delay a debate because some affluent idiots screwed up their accounting. Since when does a few bankers determine the course of our nation or the world merely because they can't balance their books? Isn't hiding from the public how ancient Roman leaders failed?
Debate...
McCain took a bit of heat from our liberal press when he said he was suspending his campaign and would not be at the debate.
Palin is taking heat for her foreign policy limitations.
My questions are:
1. Why no press about Obama refusing to hold town hall meetings with McCain?
2. Why is his limited foreign policy experience not called out?
Or for that matter, his limited, shoddy State and US Senate record?

Selective Listening (another thought)
Whether or not it was a politcal move on McCains part or not is irrelevant. The fact of the matter is that the decision to suspend the campiagn and delay or postpone the debate in light of the current crisis was The Right Thing To Do. That should count, for once despite the criticism a politition will knowingly face with an announcement of this sort, he did it anyway. The only problem I see is that he should have stuck to his guns and not given in to Obama. If anything I would have respected him more if he stayed in Washington in protest of Obama's obviousley dismissive attitude toward the finacial well being of this country. McCain still has my vote and as with any good leadership will hopefully learn something from his mistake. As far as the debate goes I'll be watching and I hope he really sticks it to em'!
Selective listening
I so agree with you. I think McCain showed who the true leader is, and who really wants to put country first. McCain asked Obama to join him in Washington to make it a joint effort, to take the politics out of the situation. Obama refused and said, "call me". True leaders can multi-task, but that does not mean when a major crisis is happening that they should not drop everything and head back to Washington to be "at the table."
Then Reid and Pelosi trying to say they had a deal when they did not. They where flat out lying to the American public. Obama does not have the leadership skills necessary to lead this country at this time, maybe after a few more years of real experience.
Selective listening skills
Does no one ever listen. McCain did not say he wanted to cancel the debate entirely, he said "postpone". For those of you who don't understand English, that means that, for the time being lets stop and focus on an obviously crucial problem that by all accounts needs immediate attention and resolution or may result in the financial demise of America. Then we will continue with the debate. Yes, Americans need to hear what the candidates have to say but we can wait if it means averting or ending an apparent crisis for this Country! If Obama really had an interest in what was best for this country he would have risen to the challenge given by McCain. But once again he'd rather vote present and make sure he gets his limelight time. Could the man be any more self-absorbed. Its time that this country and it's Media stop acting like spoiled impatient children and recognize LEADERSHIP and those who try to lead by acting like a dictator.
Representation?
My disgust with all concerned and their behavior leading up to and during this crisis has no limits.
Tell me again why we elected these people?
Is it our interests that are being represented?
