People make mistakes...
Christians believe in trying to live their lives as Christ would. Unfortunately, Christians are flesh and blood human beings and make mistakes. What amuses me is the gall of people who believe in no standards whatsoever accusing those of us who do have standards of being hypocrites because we sometimes fail to meet them.
Bristol Palin baby
The Christian right is so hypocritical in this Bristol Palin story. These same people just about crucified Fantasia when she was on the American Idol show. This young woman was only trying to win a talent show and the Christian right and right-wing republican party were relentless about how this girl was the worst of the worst and should not be allowed to continue on the show. If Barack Obama's daughter was pregnant out of wedlock, these people would have crucified her and her mother and father. This whole thing is filled with racisim. Since Bristol is not some young black girl from the inner city, it's okay for her to be pregnant out of wedlock. It is utterly amazing how the Christian right is spinning this pregnancy. Bristol should not be held up as someone girls of America should be like. It is a disgrace that she is pregnant out of wedlock just as it is for any young girl to be so.

Like mother like daugther. What example ia she going to teach the young girls. Oh, it,s akay, the VP had a child in eights and

Religious right/wrong
This whole Bristol Palin affair confuses me. Sarah Palin who had premarital sex is a fiend on "abstinance only" I presume because she "had" to get married herself when pregnant from premarital sex. Now when news leaked that Bristol is "like mother like daughter" the Religious Right praises Bristol because her lover conveniently says he will marry her. What if Levi said no? Then what would they be saying?
Sex Education
In Alaska they do not teach kids that there are two things in the air that can get a girl pregnant...Her legs. Had Sarah been around she could have watched her daughter more closely to make sure that her legs were on the ground.
Did McCain realize that Sarah Palin has a 4 month old child, a 17 year old daughter, a son going to Iraq and a couple of other kids??? Does she even know it??? Maybe it was not the right time for her to be asked to be a V.P. canidate.
Palin's Pregnancy
WHY did Palin have to reveal the pregnancy and trot those two kids out, all the while complaining about getting attacked by the press? SHE revealed it. Was the press supposed to ignore it? If the real problem was rumors on the blog, Palin didn't have the courage to tell the truth about Trig and then rise above it. She USED her own daughter to clear her name! This goes along with the lack of judgement she showed getting on a plane after her water broke and flying eight hours or so, giving birth very shortly after. What if there had been complications? What mother who had had five children would even think of doing that? No wonder there were rumors - how does one make any sense of that behavior?
Your character is not utlimately shaped by the bad decisions
you may have made but by the response to the consequences of those decisions. Almost if not every one of you who criticizes Bristol Palin for becoming pregnant out of wedlock was only one strong sperm swimmer and a fertile egg away from being there yourself. Stop the hypocrisy. I had unproteced sex, did not get anyone pregnant but very easily could have.....Give the family a break.
Do your children march to every order that you give? Do you love them any less or them you? Then what makes you think there is a problem within the Palin family relationships?
Abstinence is by far the only fool proof method of not having unwanted pregnancies and it is the right thing to do and only thing to do if you call yourself a dedicated bible believing Christian. Anything less, then the bar has been set too low.
Bristol baby
I have never been so sad for pro-lifer..of which I am . Dr.Dobson and FRC you've broken my heard all your principals down the drain.This is what happens when you don't trust GOD I guess we're all free now to vote for whatever sin burnden you most: abortion,helping the poor homosexuality or maybe just vote for you pocket book issues.
Teen Pregnacies
THE TRUTH IS, THE MAJORITY OF TEEN GIRLS WHO BECOME PREGNANT, KEEP THEIR CHILDREN. This family has not done anything exceptional.
The abstinence only proponents are lying to themselves and children/adolescences. Teens are hormonally driven towards sex. Using guilt and religion does not stop people from engaging in sex.
If Bristol would have used contraceptives she would not be in this position, of bringing a child into the world.
