Huckabee the best candidate of all candidates

McCain has slapped me in my face and still hurts,when
he chose Palin as his VP.Just because she's attractive?
Her RNC speech was delivered beautifully,attacking Obama,
was a hit among Republicans.They loved her when she bashed
him.She's good at attacking other candidates only.
Why I liked ....
I'm a self-employed small businessperson with 4 kids, in VA. In the summer and fall of 2007 I did a lot of studying on the many candidates. I not only read about them; I read what they, themselves, had to say. I watched almost all of the presidential debates closely.
I especially studied (1) their stated positions on the issues, and (2) their established record. For instance, did their words match up to what they actually had DONE in their years of gov't service?
After many months, based on all this research, I decided that the best person for the job would be Gov. Mike Huckabee. His record in AR was solid for cutting taxes, even while working with a Democrat legislature. Huckabee balanced the budget there and kept it balanced, even while dramatically improving the schools and the highways. He was re-elected twice so the voters must have liked what he did there. He still has a 68% approval rating in AR. He got 48% of the black vote because he genuinely cares about ALL people.
When Hurricane Katrina hit, and the gov't of Louisiana was so paralyzed, Huckabee had a plan already in place. He led the neighboring state of AR to welcome 70,000 refugees and housed them in vacant camps in the beautiful mountains all around his state. They were fed and cared for by a well-organized army of volunteers. People who know Mike Huckabee personally say that he is a sincerely caring human being who learns people's names and keeps up with other people's needs and challenges. He also "gets it" when it comes to the threat from radical Islam. His stand against the murder of abortion is solid and has never wavered. I hope Mike Huckabee will some day get a chance to show the American people what true servant-leadership with heart looks like.

I LIKE MIKE
First, I would like to say to the writer of that article, "How did you manage to watch Mike Huckabee's speech Wednesday night and all you got out of it was that Mike has put on some weight? Did you miss that part of your journalism class when the professor was instructing you how to get the most important details of the story? Mike said a lot of really memorable things and all you got was Mike has gained weight?? And you get paid a salary for that calibur of reporting?" It is true that Mike Huckabee has gained weight...How much? Who knows and who really cares? Mike is a very good and decent man and YES, he did write a book on losing weight. I'm sure no one realizes more than Mike that he needs to get back to those principles he wrote about in his book. As someone who also struggles with weight, I can tell you first hand that Mike has had probably the toughest year in his life. It's not easy sticking to a routine of healthy eating and exercise when you are on the campaign trail, hopping planes daily to get to speeches, staying in a different hotel every night, living on little or no sleep between stops and struggling with the stess and emotional ups and down of a campaign. I'm sure that when Mike dropped out of the campaign that he felt very disappointed and discouraged. Mike ran an honest, clean campaign. He should have pride and self-satisfaction that he fought the good fight with dignity and honor. I have nothing but total respect and admiration for him. You mark my words, Mike will be back to his "fighting weight" in a matter of months. We have not seen the last of that good man. May God Continue to Bless You Mike Huckabee!!!
A response to Joe:
1) Huckabee did NOT pardon over 1,000 criminals. He gave clemencies - some pardons, some were simply commutations (lowering the sentence).
But to put that number in perspective, let's remember that he RECEIVED MANY MORE REQUESTS for clemencies. He DENIED 2/3 of the requests for pardons, and DENIED 86% of the requests for commutations!
ALSO, he signed off on, and executed 16 criminals during his tenure. That's more than ALL 20 OTHER STATES that had the death penalty in place at the time!!!
For those he did give clemency, he didn't do so merely because they professed to have become christians. If you look at studies on the penal system, you'll see that, statistically speaking, the criminals who profess a conversion to christianity while in prison tend to have better records in the future than their fellow prisoners.
AND LASTLY, he was endorsed by Chuck Norris, ergo he must not be soft on crime - just kidding!
2) About the AIDS patients: you have to remember that he said this back when we didn't know much about this terrible virus. We had no idea how it spread, and Huckabee wanted to be safe, not sorry. When more research had been done, he changed his stance.
3) As for the supposed tax increases, you have to remember that he faced a legislature that was between 70 and 90 percent democrat - and they could override most vetoes dealing with tax bills with only a 50% vote! Most of those tax hikes weren't his fault.
4) And lastly, the supposed religious bigotry. As for the "anti-catholic" bigotry, please read the following:

If you define "bigot" as a person who is outspoken about their faith, then men like George Washington, Abe Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, and Ronald Reagan are also bigots.
If you define "bigot" as a person who treats people of other religions as below himself, that's NOT Govenor Huckabee.
Yes, Huckabee is an evangelical. Yes, he is a strong, outspoken evangelical. But no, he is not a "bigot".

He is currently the only form who isn't immersed with lobbyists ,women, and/or history of drug use and not only that -- He is the most qualified and would have secured the Moral majority /swing states/minorities /youth BASE ! of the Republican Party --!

The American Press
It is so true the American Press can be our worst enemy or one of our greatest assets. The Press should stop trying to dig up dirt and look for the positives. I for one am sick of reading the stuff on all of the candidates. Since they couldn't find anything else wrong with Huckabee, they zeroed in on his weight. Give me a break! Perhaps the journalists should take a look at the Bible and read the part that says, let those without sin cast the first stone!. The American people need to be uplifted. Everywhere you look whether it be the T.V. news or the newspapers, American Journalist seem to gage their success by writing a story more negative than the other guy. I think journalist in general needs to raise the standard and do more to help uplift Americans through the written word. They could be the leaders of changing negative attitudes in America by putting a positive spin on each candidates abiilties and allowing the American voters to decide for themselves who they believe is the best candidate for our President. Congress is really in control anyway. Why do we give so much emphasis to which party or which candidate is at the reign? We need to support the winning candidate no matter who is selected. Anyone who talks negatively about someone just because they are not afraid to stand before America and speak about the Bible and the Lord's plan for us, is simply stupid anyway. If anyone thinks a man or a woman is in control of our country they are living in a fantasy world. The good Lord is in control and through whom ever is selected we need to pray that our dear Lord will provide them with knowledge to guide our country to protect our citizens and our troops. The bible says there will be wars upon wars. There is nothing we can do to prevent the fact that this will come to pass. However, through prayer and following the bible which is the best guide book if people would just read it, the American people can stand together on solid ground and make a difference for America as well as the world by leading through example. Talk is cheap, action tells it all. A picture says a thousand words.
