McCain Camp Targets New York Times Story on Palin

Sarah Palin
It is astounding that the biased media and the democrats attack Sarah Palin while totally ignoring the lack of experience and baggage of their candidate. The condescending, sexist, and biased comments are despicable. I last worked on Bobby Kennedy's campaign and after his death stopped participating in political campaigns. I will volunteer to work on the McCain Palin campaign this year and suspect a lot of other women will do the same.
Smears?
I have not heard any smears by the media about Sarah Palin and her family. Was it Dan Rather who got her 17 year old daughter pregnant? Katie Curic who poured drinks down her husband's throat before her got his DWI? Reporting the truth is not a smear. The GOP needs to give up this tired old argument that the media is being unfair to them.
Leave Palin's children alone!
Leave Palin's children alone! The DNC has the double standard. It was ok for Hillary, a woman, to run for president but it's wrong for Palin to run for VP? Who's party has been famous for championing women's rights? I think there is some self contradiction here.
Obama's character has been questioned as rightly so. Having an outlandish and radically racist pastor is comparable to having a pregnant teenage daughter? It is NOT the same thing. It just proves to me that she is indeed pro life in policy as well as in her life. The major reasons for abortion - teenage pregnancy and "imperfect" babies.
Republican's attitudes towards their own
I find it extremely interesting that in 2000 when McCain and Bush were head to head that Bush denigrated McCain's war background, and then started rumors about his one of his children.
In 2004, when Kerry ran against Bush, there was a huge "smear campaign" about Kerry's service in Vietnam. No matter what you believe about Kerry, he chose to serve his country and did it honorably.
In 2008, the Republican's are all about McCain's war record. No one can dispute that McCain is a hero, etc.
I don't understand the Republican's inconsistency in their arguments. How were they so able to go after Kerry (Bush never served) and diminish his record?
Just a hockey mom
Ha oh come on, we all know how Palin was able to win over McCain... or if you don't this article seems to point everything out with clearly captioned photographs: http://www.236.com/news/2008/09/03/inside_the_mccainpalin_meeting_8688.php
Just a hockey mom indeed.
Obama & Palin
The scrutiny on Obama wasn't on personal issues and certainly no one went after his daughters. The media downplayed the Rezko, Wright and Ayers connections and embargoes the countless gaffes Obama makes on the campaign trail. How does that even compare to smearing Palin and her family? It seems that Democrat kids are never subject to scrutiny (and that's the way it should be), but Republican kids are fair game (Bush twins, and now Palin's kids).
The media doesn't have anything legit on Palin, so they have to resort to dishonestly reporting her firing of the police chief to make it look like a real scandal, trying to score cheap points by going after Bristol, making sh!t up (ie. Palin slashing budget for teen pregnancy programs when she actually reduced the proposed increase in the budget, which was still 3 times more than the previous annual budget).
Uh... you guys need to pay more attention, Obama's waterboys in the media have been reading racism into virtually ALL criticisms of him (phallic symbols and white women in the "Celebrity" ad... wtf!?!?!). They even played the race card against Hillary Clinton back in the primaries.
Actually, some of the criticisms have been pretty sexist. Being a bad mother for running for VP because of the scrutiny it brings to her kids? How about the media leave her kids out of it? And talking about how she should STAY HOME and take care of her Down's Syndrome baby. Now suddenly the supposedly pro-woman left has a problem with the man taking care of a baby when his wife is busy working?
I boggles my mind how any Americans can support a crypto-communie, terrorist-befriending, slumlord schmoozing, affirmative action posterboy who for 20 years participated in the black equivalent of the KKK and stewed in its hateful anti-American rhetoric.
Back to the issue's of the country
Each day that passes, without allowing for a debate on the challenges facing the country is a good day for John McCain. This is all desperation and understandable, but why not have an honest debate about issues ? Is the country on the right track ? Do we want to continue the Bush policies(or even 90% of them) ?
If the McCain camp was really interested in honesty, it would let Sarah Palin answer questions from the public. What is happening, it seems, is that they are first trying to make it not okay to ask questions, before they allow her to go public.
Palin may lose the election for McCain
I am an Arizona native so know a great deal about McCain, he can be very charmastic and fool a lot of people a great deal of the time. He might have just charmed his way into the White House save for this clossical mistake in picking a VP canidate that a Greyhound bus headed to Vegas.
I believe that Obama is the best canidate here but this woman have more to do with the outcome of this election than either of the two canidates running for president.
And I personally believe this only just rewards for McCain, he expects everyone to bow to him and from the get go it has been apparant that this woman is not gonna be a yes sir kind of gal!
sexism by the media
Its smacks of sexism when you have John Roberts and I believe Sally Quinn from the Washington Post say that how can she find the time to be VP when she has 5 children, the youngest one with special needs and the oldest daughter being pregnant. They would never say that if it was the husband running instead of the wife. That I believe is sexist. When MSNBC runs a headline saying most people wonder how she will have time for being a mother and Vice President. Then you have Andrew Sullivan who says on his blog that the 4 month old baby is the daughters and not Sarah Palins, which shows how low a supposedly reputable writer will sink to.
Then when Obama and his surrogates attack her on the lack of experience for VP. What about his experience for being President which I believe is much more important. Its just like him attacking Mccain on his 7 homes (owned mainly by his wife) compared to him buying his home when his campaign contibuter Rezko helped him by buying the lot next to his house (same seller) and he got a 300k discount on his home from 1.95m to 1.65m. He then bought 1/5 of the lot from Rezko for an inflated price (1/5 of the total purchase price of the empty lot only showing that Rezko paid to much for the vacant lot to allow Obama a discount on his home.)
