Denver Cops Take In a Day of Protests at the Democratic Convention
DENVER—Monday should bring another day of protests in downtown Denver, but they are calm, in part, because of the unusual way in which the Denver police are handling the events. Instead of leading the protesters through city streets, we found that the police are simply hanging back, literally following the groups on foot and in SUVs. In these pictures, a large group of protesters in downtown Denver, marching against the war in Iraq, walked well ahead of the police, most of whom were dressed in riot gear. At several points, the protesters moved so fast that they enveloped cars waiting at red lights. But the police did not move in, instead simply waiting to the rear, a practice that appeared to lessen the normal tensions between the two groups.

People and race issues
It is sickening how far I thought that we had come as a nation but it is more than obvious that we haven't moved a step. I can't believe that people would actually rather vote for McCain just because he is white and Obama is not. It really makes me wonder if these ignorant people think that we are still living in the 40's and 50's. They would rather vote against what is supposed to be their political party just because the candidate is a person of color. What sense does that make? Though they are not willing to admit it that is what the problem is. I just don't get it.
