Hints of a Colin Powell or Condi Rice Endorsement for Obama

Obama Earned Support

About this time a year ago, Michelle Obama was complaining about the lack of support for Obama in the Black community (Hillary had the support of almost sixty percent of African-American registered Democrats).

After a year of debates and campaigning, Obama is now said to have the support of eighty percent of Black voters.

Powells support, along with many others has been earned on policy and not race.

Powell Endorsement...

Why can't Powell simply be endorsing Obama because he has taken a look at both candidate's view and and simply believes that Obama is the better candidate for this country? Powell went on to explain quite extensively as to why he is endorsing Obama. This a highly intelligent and informed man...to suggest that he is endorsing simply along racial lines is so incredibly insulting. It suggests that he is incappable of making an informed decision. I guess only whites can make informed decisions. Some people are so insulting and they don't even have the commen sense to realize they are being such. Why is it that anybody Black who happens to be voting for Obama is doing so "ONLY BECAUSE HE IS BLACK?" Never mind that most Blacks are Democrats anyways...let's just throw that fact out of the equation. The obvious and simple trueth is that Obama is a unquestionably smarter and much more open minded canidate who has managed to cross racial, gender, social, economic as well as generational lines and his views are much more inclusive of the general, middle income population than McCain's. He is a qualified canidate who happens to be Black. Let's not forget that he has a white mother...but whites again totally overlook this fact. If Obama were ALL white there wouldn't be any question as to who is the better canidate. The man's creditials and intelligence FAR OUTWEIGH McCain's and it's so obvious. (Compare college education for nstance. McCain graduated at the BOTTOM of his class and crashed several military jets and was basically a failure in our country's military but such was ovelooked becaue he was wealthy and happend to get captured. Obama on the otherhand graduated at the top of his class from two of our country's show-white ivy league institutions of higher learning) But, because he is not all white...some people are not able to see past color. Wake up people. And another thing: Palin is an absolute joke! The women is clearly not qualified to be VP of anything let alone the USA. Again, if race were differnt...and Palin were BLACK. She would be considered what she is. A total idiot. After watching the interview of Michelle Obama and comparing such to any interview of Palin...I saw such a stark contrast in intelligence between the two. Not notice that Michelle is clearly superior in intelligence and class is due to either pure blindness or blatant prejudice.

Condi's endorsement will look as though racial

Condi should just keep silent and vote obama so as to avoid the whole scenario appearing as racially motivated. Better still if she goes public it may not very much interfere with the outcome since her vote will only count on the ballot. No significant sway.

General Colin Powell

I saw General Powell endorse Barack Obama on NBC today. I heard him say that he is an American first. I find that hard to believe. It is my firm mopinion as a former Democrat and present Independent that Colin Powell is a black first and foremost and his endorsement has proven that beyond any doubt. There is no way that General Powell could endorse a Socialist with such a radical philosophy except for the fact that he is black and Powell does not wish to referred to as an Uncle Tom.

I would greatly appreciate it if you would forward my comments to General Powell with whom I have lost all respect.

Powell endorses Obama

Woohooo I am so glad Gen. Powell endorsed Obama. Praise God!!!

I think many people agree with Powell for his reasons to endorse Obama. McCain's campaign has been so negative it will be along time before I ever vote Republican again after this election. It would take a very honest trustworthy guy or woman to ever get me vote Rep ever again. Barack is a Godsent for this country- and so many people are seeing that.

Powell

Actually, I think it would be an incredible duo to see Colin Powell/Rice or Rice/Powell as the inddependent ticket.

It would be epic history!

Colin Powell

I would like to see Colin Powell run for the presidency on an independent ticket.

I believe he garners enough respect in this country, both black and white, that he could pull off a vitory with relatively litte effort.

This is great...

I'm actually amazed that Powell and especially Rice HAVE NOT already endorsed their party's canddidate. Doesn't that say a whole lot? McCain should have had their endorsements as soon as he was chosen by the Repbulicans, but he hasn't. Very cool!

colin powel

Most would lose their respect for Colin Powel if he endorsed the partial birth loving obama, I know and many others wold

In Response: Racial Allegience

Let us be realists here. If Colin Powell endorses Obama, it will be due to the lack of affection for the Bush administration. You DONT compromise your principles. He chose, when addressing the UN, to do exactly that if he believed the intelligence relating to WMD's was wrong.

I am not very excited about our choices in this upcoming election. THere is no doubt in my mind that some African Americans are going to vote for Obama, simply because of his race. Some for the same reason, in certain areas such as New Orleans, continue to vote in the same Democrat politicians

who promise everything and deliver nothing.

There is also no doubt, based on some of your statements, you believe in big government and an entitlement state. Bush has made some serious errors in judgement.. spending, expanding the government. About Iraq, that would require a whole other discussion.

You try to blame the president for the housing crisis, thats a hoot. Lets not forget it was the Democrat congress who criticized the mortgage companies and forced them to offer loans to those who couldnt afford them. Its time people take responsibility for their actions and stop blaming the government or looking to the government for help.

50 million without health insurance? Not even close but nonetheless, go ask England or Canada how their national healthcare programs are fairing. Health care is NOT a right, sorry to say. Maybe I missed that one in the Constitution or Bill of Rights.

So everything that is wrong or has been occurring was caused by the Bush administration. And, under the tutilidge and leadership of Obama, all will be flowers and lollipops?

Economy and Oil Prices. The Democrats said two years ago they have a plan! They have control of the congress and have yet to pass a bill that would alleviate anything. Now Pelosi wont even allow an up or down vote on offshore drilling.

I almost hope Obama wins so you can truly taste the ideals of Marxism, Socialism, Higher Taxes (that will certainly help the economy), and a trillion dollar Global Warming initiative.

Bobbles Poll: President for Life?

Bill Clinton Bobblehead, Washington Whispers

Bill Clinton recently said that he wished he could have stayed president until they carted him away in a coffin or he lost reelection. Looking back, would you have voted Clinton into a third term against George W. Bush in 2000?
