My Dad was in Viet Nam two times. I saw many pictures no one else saw and heard many things that were for no one else to hear.You are still a Brave man today, Mr. McCain. You put yourself out there among the very people that were the SCREAMERS, SPITTERS,and the FLAG BURNERS from yesterday.

"Crown Prince" - Trauma Hero

"I didn't know at the time that my name had been released in a rather big propaganda splash by the North Vietnamese,... They told a number of my friends when I was captured, "We have the crown prince," which was somewhat amusing to me."
It is amazing how each individual can be esxposed to trama, even the same trauma, and how different the outcome - the results of experiences. To let trauma run one's life is tragic, but not all are lucky. It is a combination of willingness and humility to simply "keep your head together." This I believe is the essence of heroism regarding trauma. Victimhood torments you, tells you, even screams at you that you are the only one this happens to, bringing up specific evidence of lifetime experiences over and over again.
On October 8, 2008 in Lehigh, PA, John McCain espressed a distinct vulnerability. "Across this country, this is the agenda I have set before my fellow prisoners. And the same standards of clarity and candor must now be applied to my opponent." "My fellow prisoners? I believed he meant citizens." I have read dosens of comments regarding those three words, and not one revealed a person who understands post traumatic stress disorder. Crazy, McGrampy "losing it",... even one post attributing the comment to McCain having cancer.
The challenge that some people have that have post tramatic stress disorder is that they don't use those words. I personally feel it cheats those who struggle daily, often with the simple choice of whether to take a next breath of life.
It was Brack Obama who ever uttered the words, "post tramatic stress disorder"at a presidential candidate (Tuesday, October 14th - University of Mississippi) "We haven't adequately funded veterans' care. I sit on the Veterans Affairs Committee, and we've got -- I meet veterans all across the country who are trying to figure out, 'How can I get disability payments? I've got post-traumatic stress disorder, and yet I can't get treatment.'" It is like some victors of trauma forget.
In response, McCain said, " As far as our other issues that he brought up are concerned, I know the veterans. I know them well. And I know that they know that I'll take care of them. And I've been proud of their support and their recognition of my service to the veterans. And I love them. And I'll take care of them. And they know that I'll take care of them. And that's going to be my job."
I believe that the healing one does does not get discounted by uttering "post-traumatic stress disorder," nor does one's life work. In owning it, one is freed.
My name is Shaiyel Ester Seltzer. I suffered from post tramatic stress. I may again, even my next living moment. But moment by moment - my moments are different.
