Grandpa is the perfect next job for Cheney. It will allow him to get out of the way and stop screwing up the world, and then spend his time explaining to his grandchildren why he left the world in such a terrible mess for them.
learning to ride, forgetting to drive
Well, it's obvious that the Cheney's know something that the rest of us don't and that's why the little gal is learning to ride a pony. Soon or later, when the world runs out of black gold it'll be back to riding horses for all of us and the Cheney's are just getting a head start.
