Just proves racism is still alive!!!!!

Huckabee as vp

Someone on here mentioned this joke would be swift boat commercialed if Huck is vp. Well, I say, if that's all they can find to put on tv. Huck is in darn good shape. Most people have really dirty laundry in their closets that will get aired. Huck is clean. I don't believe a joke that has been apologized for and apology accepted would make for very good attack ads. Try again......I know you are threatened about a McCain/Huckabee ticket because they have been polling better together than any other vp. Just look at it this way. If McCain does win, you couldn;t possibly get a better 2nd in command than Huckabee. His is authentic, compassionate, yet strong, and he is never going to lose his sense of humor. That's part of his appeal. He has run a clean campaign always complimenting Obama and McCain. He didn't attack anyone. If you would look into his web site you will see how much he has done for racial healing and for the state he governed. He has great, common sense ideas that are vertical for this country, not about democrat or republican. He and McCain are both honorable men who don't use negativism in their lifestyles.

Huckabee's Reputation Spotless

Mike Huckabee has run his entire campaign in a positive manner. He was the first to defend democrat and republican who were bashed in the media, being the first to come to Obama's defense of Rev. Wright. He has lived a life of service and great accomplishment and has an amazingly high approval rate of 65% in Arkansas even now (those who know him best). He is quick to forgive others and most hard on himself. He is a role model for all of us. The Fair Tax is the single most thing this country could do to fix our economy for the long term. Huck was the ONLY one who endorsed this in his run but it is taking on monentum and on it's way to being passed. He realized that we need to reach out to the blue collar/middle clase and he "gets it". He had great success in Arkansas working with democrats to get things done for the state and was re-elected to the max. The country has missed out by not having him for president. I'm hoping McCain shows good judgement and chooses Huck as vp. If he doesn't I will question his sanity.

Why I support Huckabee

As I recall, the first time I ever heard Mike Huckabee speak was in his first republican debate. I was absolutely amazed at how wilingly he shared his heart, especially about the sanctity of human life. He also had a way of capturing everyone's attention with his keen sense of humor. In his first debate, he joked about congress spending more money than John Edwards at a beauty shop(even the dems thought this was funny) Then, at another debate he joked about sending Hillary to Mars.

And who could ever forget the many times he has taken the time to encourage others? Even though he did not get the nomination, he continues to make speeches all over the U.S.A in which he encourages many young people to follow their dream, and to hold on to their values. Mike Huckabee may never be vice-president or president, but he has made a lasting impression on me and my family.

I realize that many Obama supporters have not been following Mike Huckabee's appearances and just don't know alot about him , may be somewhat concerned by this joke. You seem to be very passionate about your candidate. Personally I didn't know there had been threats to him and his family until I read one of the comments on this site, however, if I thought for one minute that his joke was an intent to harm Obama or anyone else, I would be the first to condemn it. As for the moment, however, it is my sincere opinion that Gov. Huckabee values every life including Barack Obama's.

Thousands of us? More like MILLIONS

Listen, to all the people on here who are critical of what Huckabee said and have no heart to forgive him, you guys need to seriously take a chill pill. Maybe when Obama said that Americans were bitter, he was just looking at HIS supporters. All of you guys seem to not be able to let go of things. America is a great country, and we all say dumb things. Huckabee's joke was NOT about assassination, no matter how much you guys want to believe it was. It was about gun control. Obama is for gun control. Without hunters buying guns, and people buying guns for defense, the only ones who will have them are criminals. That's what Huckabee was getting at.

Huckabee is not a racist. In fact, he helped the black children of New Orleans while his own house was flooding. Huckabee let his house flood in order to help those kids. That is truly being a servant.

The joke really wasn't a big deal, and like Huckabee said, OBAMA KNEW THAT. If Obama was upset about it, he would have said so, and CNN would have reported it. If Obama didn't think it was such a big deal, then his supporters shouldn't think so either, unless you guys want to make it out to be something it never meant.

I'm not a Huckabee supporter because I'm being paid by him, and I'm not posting here because he told me to do so. I'm posting here because I'm standing up for him. I'm not standing up for the republican party. I'm standing up for Mike Huckabee. And I'm standing up for him, because I think he's a great person.

Romney supporters

I hope Mitt Romney has more class than his supporters. Most of them come across like poorly brought up, immature babies, who think insults and taunting is an adequate substitute for civil discussion. If Romney is anything like most of his supporters, he must be one of the worst candidates in American history.

Hold Clinton to the Same Standard

If you're not going to forgive Mike Huckabee (and you should forgive him if Obama did), at least hold Hillary Clinton to the same standard. Today she mentioned the RFK assassination as a reason why she's staying in, yet I haven't heard anyone railing against her because of it.

Mike Huckabee should be president

Mike Huckabee is the one who should be running for President. He has the executive experience and is smart enough to know that the Fair Tax is the best way to go for a long-term fix on the economy. He left Arkansas much better than he found it. He still has a 65% approval rating there (those who know him best)! Huckabee and McCain have the best idea for lowering the cost of health care. Check out the Mass. healthcare plan that is currently in place. It has been a disaster and this is the same basic plan the democrats propose! Also, democrats are already saying they will raise taxes!!! We need less government, less taxes. You won't find that with the democrats. PS I know that Huckabee is not in the race for 2008 and he doesn't need a vp spot as he is in much demand for public speaking and could do much better financially and have more time to work towards building his coalition for another possible run. But, it is the country who has lost out for this election.......No, I do not work for Huckabee. He is not a rich man and does not have paid workers. The people on this site are those who have taken the time to investigate all candidates and know that Huckabee "gets it"....and he has a fantastic sense of humor!!!

huckabee apologizes

As for Mr. Huckabee being such a diplomat. How can he displays such a poor filter, can you just imagine him trying to represent the United States abroad, with the shites, kurds, North Korea, China etc.... When will we wake up as a country this is why we are so hated. They hate us for are lack of compassion, understanding and our brute force, oh, but we do apologize after by rebuilding your country after we have taken what we want and destroyed it. I LOVE my country but we have to come to the table we are the most violent educated society in the world. The fact that a man of God and a educated man who personally knows the horrilbe threats that the Sen. receives daily by hate groups, would be that insensitive and think that was funny is the scariest part of all. And for those of you that think that he should not have apologized, Sen Obama did not push the issue nor did he demand an apology, it was the only political thing for Mr. Huckabee to do.

huckabee apologizes

No I am sorry Maxine, Mike Huckabee is not a class act. A truly class act does not make such a distateful, not funny comment. Considering the amount of death threats that Sen Obama and his family receives, he should have known better. It even flopped with the NRA crowd. It is one thing for people to think that you are stupid, it is another to open your mouth and remove all doubt. I am also concerned about how people can do things intentionally and then think they can just say I am sorry as if that makes it undone.
