Huckabee Apologizes to Obama

We knew he issued a TV apology for telling an assassination joke to an NRA audience about Sen. Barack Obama, but now former GOP presidential candidate Mike Huckabee reveals to us that he also made a personal apology call to the likely Democratic presidential nominee. Huckabee says it was blown way out of proportion by bloggers and the media. That was in part why he called to say he was sorry for making this joke after hearing a loud bang in the background while he spoke to the National Rifle Association recently. “That was Barack Obama. He just tripped off a chair. He's getting ready to speak, and somebody aimed a gun at him and he--he dove for the floor.”

Huck told our Suzi Parker that he called Obama last weekend to clear the air. “He didn't think it was a big deal although the media did," Huckabee tells us. "He was very nice about the whole thing." Huckabee connected with Obama through Harold Ford Jr., who was a guest on Meet the Press along with Huckabee last Sunday. "He [Obama] told me he didn't think it was a big deal, that he knew I didn't mean anything by it and not to worry. He was a class act and gracious. Too bad the people who blew it up on the Internet weren't as classy or calm as he was."

Just proves racism is still alive!!!!!

Huckabee as vp

Someone on here mentioned this joke would be swift boat commercialed if Huck is vp. Well, I say, if that's all they can find to put on tv. Huck is in darn good shape. Most people have really dirty laundry in their closets that will get aired. Huck is clean. I don't believe a joke that has been apologized for and apology accepted would make for very good attack ads. Try again......I know you are threatened about a McCain/Huckabee ticket because they have been polling better together than any other vp. Just look at it this way. If McCain does win, you couldn;t possibly get a better 2nd in command than Huckabee. His is authentic, compassionate, yet strong, and he is never going to lose his sense of humor. That's part of his appeal. He has run a clean campaign always complimenting Obama and McCain. He didn't attack anyone. If you would look into his web site you will see how much he has done for racial healing and for the state he governed. He has great, common sense ideas that are vertical for this country, not about democrat or republican. He and McCain are both honorable men who don't use negativism in their lifestyles.

Huckabee's Reputation Spotless

Mike Huckabee has run his entire campaign in a positive manner. He was the first to defend democrat and republican who were bashed in the media, being the first to come to Obama's defense of Rev. Wright. He has lived a life of service and great accomplishment and has an amazingly high approval rate of 65% in Arkansas even now (those who know him best). He is quick to forgive others and most hard on himself. He is a role model for all of us. The Fair Tax is the single most thing this country could do to fix our economy for the long term. Huck was the ONLY one who endorsed this in his run but it is taking on monentum and on it's way to being passed. He realized that we need to reach out to the blue collar/middle clase and he "gets it". He had great success in Arkansas working with democrats to get things done for the state and was re-elected to the max. The country has missed out by not having him for president. I'm hoping McCain shows good judgement and chooses Huck as vp. If he doesn't I will question his sanity.
