Obama...no experience??
just because Obama doesn't have experience doesn't mean he will not be a great president. Regan had no experience. He was a cowboy/actor but he was a great president. We need to consider what are they trying to accomplish over the next 4 to 8 years instead of their experience. Bush has experience but he sucks as a president!
the 2008 election
I believe it's going to take a lot of trust and strength on the part of the American voters, to give Mr.Obama a chance.Look at what's happened to this country in the last 8 years.This all because what was going on in another country was more important than the United States.You can go on believing that he had good reason to provoke this war.But he has yet to prove to this reader that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction.As far as I'm concerned, it was only a ploy to send troops over there to handle some unfinished business his father failed to take care of. (way-to-go Bush,daddy should be real proud of ya!)But in the mean time our American people have suffered in every area from health care, to home mortgage loans.If your worried about the condition of this country and a light at the end of this pitch black tunnel.We as Americans need to take a stand, and give this man a shot. Because John McCain's plans for America's future,mirrors the Bush administration to a (t)I've also been paying close attention to the tactics the John McCain has been using during this presidential race, and all i have to say is that, he reeks of a desperate man who's resorted to dirty under-handed tricks to win voters over.I think that when a person is being honest about their plans, or whatever it is their saying.They don't have to attack their opponent or stoop to nasty comments,or just out in out lies to make themselves appear more worthy.and I'm sorry but for all McCain"s finger pointing, name-calling and facial expressions.I still have no idea what his political package in-tales.Sorta reminds me of the last debate.Maybe he'd be better suited as a boxer.Because when it comes to answering questions concerning his plans as president,he does more ducking,bobbing and weaving than any other politician I've ever seen.If we want something to change in this country,we as voters are going to have to be the ones to make it happen.Or we'll just be settling for another 8 years of the same lies and self-involvement that's been going on thus-far.We've got a chance to change this around.And if we don't take advantage of it, don't kick scream and shout about the condition of this country. Please give Mr.Obama a chance and let him show you he's more than capable of backing up what he's saying.
Obama is cool
I think that everyone who votes should go with what they feel is best for them. To not vote for someone because of the color of their skin is wrong. Doesnt it matter if he is the best man for the job? We all know that mccain is a big liar. He wont take responsibility for the war he is about to rage on the races. He throows the rock and hides his hand. He brought Joe the plunber into the debate and when the media jumped all over him, he blamed obama. When you do something wrong, acknowlege it and move on. Another example is blaming obama for something that was done when he was 8 yrs old. Why cant mccain try to win the election fair and square. These robocalls he is doing, spreading lies is ridiculous. I want this election over, the american people are going to have a hard time heeling from this election. I wouldnt be surprised if there isnt a war of the races over this election. americans have been torn apart and i pray that we can find a way to get along when this is over. I know its hard for whites to give Obama a chance to do a good job at president, but what is the alternative? four more yrs. of a country that is going under. this country is in bad trouble and we need a change. Do we try someone new or do we put mccain into the white house for him to finish america off with this useless war, lives being lost for no good reason. i hope that everyone does what they need to and elect obama, give the man a chance. I think many will find him to be the gr8 man and president.
Wake up Call
i say that people need to wake up and look at what eight years fo Bush has gotten the country into. Mccain is another Bush and will not fix anything. In fact he will make the bad sitiuation even worse. America needs change and we all know who will bring change to the white house.

This was a bit journalistically sloppy. The whole article actually sounds like its trying to hype up some sort of battle. Please don't insult the majority of Americans by saying that we fit closer with the old guy's way of thinking-his ideas make him sound like Bush's reicarnation....
I'm sorry..
..but I've read Obama's stance on issues and Mcain's and franky Mcain's are darned scary. What is this about "empty rhetoric'"? He has great ideas and can speak well, that used to mean good presidential material, or does that only apply to people of certain types? Obama has done great to put up with all of this crud, the fact that he made it this far, this quick shows that he's smart enough to run a decent campaign and win.
Between Obama and Mccain it should be obvious that Obama is better suited, I guess we need a little hype to keep it all interesting though.
a grain of salt is in order
Just for everyone's information-- the Winston group is not a non-partisan polling group; it's a Republican polling group. Myra Miller, quoted here, is a former Political Director for the Alabama Republican Party. It struck me as funny that a conservative polling company came to the conclusion that Americans were, by and large, ideologically conservative.
But really, though, don't you think it's journalistically sloppy to omit reference to something like that in a magazine like this? No one would present some Moveon.org-sponsored poll at face-value-- as well they shouldn't. I mean, this is like Journalism 101. Save this stuff for the blogs.

Flase Hope
Remember John Kerry was sitting 20% points ahead of Bush at this stage in the game in 2004 and look how things turned out. The latest polling has McCain and Obama neck and neck and there is so much about Obama that the press has shielded from the American people. Only time will tell, even if the press does not.
