Straw Poll Shows Hillary Clinton’s Out in Washington’s Opinion
It's the biggest, snazziest, and just the most darn fun party leading up to the White House Correspondents' Association dinner, and this year's fete at Tammy Haddad's house included a new feature: voting by Washington's most powerful on who will be our next president. Tammy tells us that most of the 550 guests voted. “It was about an 80 percent turnout,” she tells us. Some, like NBC's Tim Russert, didn't vote, of course, being too nonpartisan to participate. But most everybody else in the crowd of Washington's most important political and media biggies couldn't resist the kids asking for their vote. And the final tally:
Sen. Barack Obama--43 percent
Sen. John McCain--38 percent
Sen. Hillary Clinton--19 percent.
"If Obama wins, clearly we will become the ultimate finger in the wind," says Haddad, the former right-hand woman for Larry King and Chris Matthews and now a PR exec. Her regular hosts for the "11th Annual Garden Brunch" were other Washington big shots, including Hilary Rosen, Alex Castellanos, Debbie Dingell, David Adler, Kathryn Leyman, and Beth Viola.
The voting clearly shows a trend that has been growing in official Washington: There is an increasing weariness with the Clintons and a desire for somebody new to watch and cover. But it also shows the resilience of McCain, who is a media darling of sorts. And it might prove what the Clintons have been saying all along: The political and media elites just don't like her. Fatal Flaw
Hillary Clinton: finished before she started. Dick Morris, writes: “Bill and Hillary Clinton have always believed that they’re very different than the rest of us … they’ve learned one important and consistent lesson: that rules don’t matter. Rules don’t apply to them. Rules are for other people.” Even before the Clinton’s began their end run around the 22-Amendment, they knew there was a fatal flaw. Both Clintons knew their role in bringing CSUMB (the Clinton College) to fruition. They appointed who would run it, and selected who would attend it. Yet, the Clintons seem accountable to nothing except blind ambition – which begs the question(s): Where is the accountability? How much more will the Clintons get away with? Arrogance
How could a person (Obama) already declare himself president? Arrogance that's how, I've never seen such audacity from anyone, oops, yes I have, George Bush, that's it, that's who Obama reminds me of, the arrogance of thinking he never has to say I"m sorry, not listening to anyone else when he knows he's wrong, wow, its astounding how Obama is Like Bush, he wont ask for help, he'll just be putting us all in danger again and continuously as we are right now, we dont need his arrogance, we need a sure, strong, listening president, one who knows when to say she's sorry, when she needs some help, when she considers all options that people will give her, by doing the right thing without answering to the rich and special interests groups, she is the President who will listen to the people!!! Obama needs to step aside, he's not ready and he'll be slaughtered in the race if he's the nominee, most polls show now that Hillary has the better chance of winning over Mccain, not Obama. As time goes on Obama is losing his so called major lead, so not to tell you what to do, but think really, really hard when you cast your vote. You'd either be casting a vote for a PUPPET or a strong dedicated WOMEN who can bring this Nation back to its former glory once again.
