Washington Whispers by Paul Bedard

Write-In Veep Bid for Condi Rice

March 13, 2008 08:22 PM ET | Paul Bedard | Permanent Link | Print

Sen. John McCain's campaign will soon see a wave of postcards coming in from around the nation, urging him to pick Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice as his running mate. Crystal Dueker, spokeswoman for ThinkCondi.com, a group promoting Rice for higher office, is urging supporters in Florida, Texas, Arizona, and California to lobby McCain. "We think it would be a winning ticket," she says. And not because both are foreign-policy nuts. "She also has management skills. She was provost of Stanford University," says Dueker.

Condi for vp

She is the ONE!!!

NFL Commissioner?

An NFL Commissioner dream job? I had much higher aspirations for Ms. Rice. The woman is much smarter "and prettier" (which equals stage presence) than Obama, and would have not only taken the wind out of the other party, but balanced out the two inconvienient "media darling" issues, which have nothing to do with competent ability; race & gender. American voters have already have seen how she handles herself on the international stage. A smart man and candidate would be complimented, not timidated by the style and class of a partner with Ms. Rice's qualifications. While General Powell, is also an excellent choice; Condi Rice, trumps the R&G issue automatically, without fanfare or discussion, straight to more important issues held by the presumptive Presidential Candidate, and republican Party, without the Kindergarten antics already displayed by the "Hollywood" Democratic candidate. The pioneer spirit of Shirley Chilsolm, (respect can cross party lines) verberates as strongly as Ms. Rice's potential to rival Margaret Thatcher. That says quite a bit, and keeps it real.

The NFL can come after your Library, and "early retirement".
