Holy Patrick! He Talks!

So it's been rumored that the Senate's No. 1 Batman fan is likely to get his second cameo in a movie about the caped crusader. But we're just learning that Vermont Sen. Patrick Leahy actually gets to talk this time. Unlike when he had a nonspeaking role in the 1997 hit Batman & Robin, I'm told that he will have a speaking part, though a "small role," in the new flick The Dark Knight, out next year.

Who knows? If they cut a few more Batmans, he might actually get to play the Joker. Leahy dabbles in Batman culture purely for fun: He donates his pay to his favorite library, the Kellogg-Hubbard Children's Library in Montpelier.
