They work together

Obama and McCain work together. They are from the same party, The Council for Foreign Relations (CFR). The could care less about this country. All they want to do is push their globalist agenda. This is why Obama and McCain never address issues. All they do is fight with each other over crap, never issues. Visit www.Campaignforliberty.com for more information.

Obama got it right

Coal should have been eliminated decades ago, along with replacement of diesel powered public transportation, like buses, with electric power, and cable cars. Look how beautiful San Francisco is!

The problem in the U.S. lately is not enough regulation, capitalism cannot be trusted to regulate itself, it's like giving the fox the job of security guard for the henhouse!

Its Not Just Coal

Skyrocketing electric prices will kill the American Steel Industry, the American Aluminum Industry, the American Paper Industry, and a host of support industries related to these. In addition, it will further decimate the American auto industry.

The decline in these industries will force many communities completely out of business. It will affect restaurants, real estate, insurance agents, hardware stores, tire stores, pet shops, auto parts stores, fashion shops, hospitals, schools, tax receipts, and more importantly people's lives who live in those communities.

It will affect the coal miners, steel workers, iron workers, electrical workers, construction workers, brick layers, painters, carpenters. In other words, it will affect almost everyone.

It will raise residential heating and cooling costs at the precise time when our economy can tolerate it the least. This could be the straw that breaks the back of the American Economy and forces it down to the depths of a deep depression.

This is not JUST about bankrupting the coal industry. It is about bankrupting the nation as a whole.

Obama's statements indicated that his cap and trade policy would bankrupt any new coal plants. He also mentioned that his policies would lead to skyrocketing electricity costs for the consumer. His comments were not taken out of context, listen to the tape for yourselves. He wants to heavily fine coal operators in order to get “billions” for R&D on alternatives, which will send the coal industry reeling and energy prices skyrocketing. Those heavy fines will be passed along to us, the consumer. I guess some people are okay with the idea that our country will be forced to suffer through skyrocketing energy prices in order to reduce greenhouse emissions, I personally think there might be better ways to go about it. But don't pretend that is not what his plan is, that's exactly what he said.

Redefining The Future !

National Security and Energy Independence ! Coal to liquid fuel and all aboard ! Hurry and we're running out of intelligent reaction time !Every generation has a responsibility to the next !

@ The Wonder

But you can't just bankrupt an industry. We need to wean off coal, and the clean coal is a great step towards this. Eventually, we'll have alternative energy sources and we can end strip mining and pollution.

Desperate

It's simply a last minute desperation ploy by the Republicans. As K.B.C says, Obama's statement was taken out of context, which is basically what McCain and Palin have been doing from the very beginning. So no surprises there.

They probably waited until the last minute because they knew there wouldn't be enough time for the truth of the matter to come out. But it's no wonder why these charges don't stick. The voters are frankly sick and tired of this sort of mudslinging. They've had enough, and that's why Obama's going to win big tomorrow.

So don't worry Goethe, the deal is just about to be closed. Just be patient. There's less than a day to go. President Obama it will be.

So sad the number of people who allow their head to be filled by the rubbish of Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity and Ann Coulter and various other low-lives and then claim that people have been brain-washed by that liberal media. Sort of sadly ironic isn't it?

Why isn't this news?

Why isn't this on the front page of all the newspapers? It's so frustrating that the MSM just blows it off. If Bush said the same thing today it would be all over the world in seconds.

While I agree that the McCain campaign has been flat footed throughout this election, it certainly makes it worse when the newspapers, TV, and magazines actively help the other candidate.

Journalists, or maybe it's all the editors, have no sense of honor or integrity. Regardless of what happens in this election, that much has been hammered home to the people of this nation
