Putin for Amerika!
The Nation has one of those pieces where the writer is so busy connecting the dots he finally wanders straight into Loony Land. Corrupt lobbyists, neocon cabals, October Surprises, hungry American imperialism—the only conspiracy element missing is Lee Harvey Oswald.
Supposedly, the article explains why Georgia suddenly erupted, and the gist is that McCain ginned it up.
There is every indication that the candidate's demonization of Putin is an even grander plan than the previous use of Hussein to fuel American militarism with the fearsome enemy that it desperately needs.
And:
What is at work here is a neoconservative, self-fulfilling prophecy in which Russia is turned into an enemy that ramps up its largely reduced military, and Putin is cast as the new Joseph Stalin bogeyman, evoking images of the old Soviet Union.
Yea, Putin! Sounds like another bright bulb looked the Russian president in the eye and got a "sense of his soul."

Bush Bashing
The media has bashed President Bush repeatedly unmercifully. The President is a strong leader who doesn't lead by opinion polls. A leader doesn't just wet his finger and stick it in the air to see which way the wind is blowing. When a leader confers with his team of advisors, the credibility of the decisions he makes hinges upon the advice he is given. We've already learned that our security budget was cut by the Clinton administration. Of course the press ignores this fact and paints Clinton as a genius. The bias that the media has against President Bush is very clear. I would suggest why don't you stick to reporting the news and let Americans think for themselves.
you're crazy
it's so funny that the left only have to offer conspiracy theories about everything..."if the conservatives, we're not on earth we could all be butt buddies and love each other and there would be peace everywhere, the radical islamists are just trying to be our friends not cut off heads and blow things up, but because of that darn George W, we're all screwed." Iraq is a strategic plan to wipe out the Islamic threat, you don't understand it, so you make up stories...
american but.....
I am American,
but come on people. President Bush and McCain dare say
that this is the 21st centery and nations don't invade other nations in the 21st centery? Ah, Iraq? Afganistan?
should i continue? Did he ask anyone if he could do this?
Did he listen to Russia or Europe before invading and desposing of Iraqs Leaders? Iraq never fire a shot at us (America)
yet they were a serious threat to us.
Georgia fired first at Russians living in a seperatist region of Georgia. Do they not have a right to protect thiere own people?
I have heard our president say that America will protect Americans anywhere they happen to be in the world. And that
we would pursue terrorist anywhere in the world. And that we would use any weapons at our disposal. So now Russia does not have this same right? No other country has this right?
I will tell you this, McCain told his followers that "today we are all Georgians". Well, speak for yourself McCain,
because we are not about to go to war with Russia over them.
It would be World War 3. And Georgia is not worth it.
To attack a nation with almost 30 thousand nuclear war heads would be suicide.
