Are you kidding me

Even you liberal geeks can see that he thinks hisjoke was misunderstood. Not that his job includes insulting people so other pathetic losers will laugh at him. What if the comment was about an Obama girl..... Can you fathom a tv punk doing that, and do you think your liberal mind would be so calm. NOT

Letterman is only trying to get a laugh at other people's expense

Sarah Palin is an easy target for the liberal media because she's a bit of a novelty having good morals. That's something in short supply today. People like Letterman who try to be humorous by insulting other people simply are not worth debating with. Not only Leterrman but CBS, NBC and ABC network news have tried to make a laughing stock out of Sarah Palin too because they don't know what to do with someone who's got good morals. Their critical joke making at her expense demonstrates the lack of integrity in reporting the news today.

There was a time when a person like Palin would have been embraced by the American populace but today sadly people like her are thought to be out of touch. When in fact she's the kind of leader we really need. As for Letterman... well what can you expect from a comedian who's more concerned with ratings than people.

Letterman should be taken off the air.

David Letterman is a mean-spirited man with an inflated ego. I stopped watching his show years ago.

Letterman Keeps Digging His Own Hole

Letterman's apology was inadequate: He continued to treat the whole thing as a joke. Indeed, he kept digging his own hole and only managed to offend me even more. Worse, to see the apology at the CBS website you must first watch a Citi commercial; CBS wants to further profit from the joke and "apology."

It is distressing to see how low values have descended in America. It is now okay to demean a person, even a child just because someone else does it; it is okay to demean a child just because I don’t like her relatives; indeed, it is okay to demean an eighteen year old, after all she is old enough, she should know better, and she too is flawed. Maybe that is why Muslim “extremists” are so afraid of American values: They don’t want their own people and children to drop that low.

daves joke

Get over it Sarah Palin!!!!! I could not stand her during the elections and I still can,t. It was a joke maybe in poor taste but come on!!!! He has said he was sorry. Life goes on! Deal with it. I can not even stand her voice. It makes me gringe!!! She just wants the lime light again!!! Go bury your head in Alaska and stay out of the news!!!1

David Letterman / Sarah Palin Comment

I think that Dave just STILL DOESN"T GET IT!!

The fact that someone is proud of their family, and introduces them to the world, doesn't give someone the right to make them fodder for the media.

His "apology" focuses on a "joke that no one got" versus comments that should not have been made in the first place.

That was no joke. It was a series of concious personal "BARBS" against Sarah Palin and her family.

His "apology" was of the sort that says "I'm sorry your mother wears pickle boots" rather that acknowleding that he should not have made the insulting comments in the first place.

Rgardless of who was supposed to be the intended victim, the whole series of statements were just plain in poor taste.

I think that Dave still needs to come out and say "I'm sorry for the offensive comments that I made that were just plain in poor taste. I should not have made the comments in the first place. I take responsibilty for the remarks, which were rude, and perhaps even taken as crude. I apologize."

Perhaps if I hear this delivered sincerely and contritely, I'll tune into Letterman again.

David Letterman

David Letterman is someone I do not watch.

He is simply expected to carry on such conversations.

I do not approve; my thought is we clean up TV.

Does his humour really serve a purpose?

Sarah Palin

Where is our country morally???

Sarah Palin's daughter mad a mistake and yet recognized this child as a person rather than a mistake. Good support and she will be a great mother.

President Obama, during his campaign said if one of his daughter's made a mistake he would not want to punish her with a child.

Valuing life, even when the life changes one's plans is important to me.

My vote remains with Sarah Palin and John McCain.

Letterman and his supporters

I do not understand Letterman and the individuals who maintain that attacking Palin and her family is acceptable because she "paraded" her family during the campaign. Palin's children were not with her on the campaign trail any more often than the other candidates' children were with their parents. I suspect the double standard stems from the fact that neither Palin nor her daughter aborted inconvenient pregnancies.

Palin should apologize

First of all it was a joke, a joke in poor taste but still a joke. I say a joke in poor taste because someone was offended. However, Palin and all of her loyal followers know he was talking about Bristol; the daughter that is of legal age. Palin laughed at jokes about Alaka's state Senate president, Lyda Green, and the jokes were much worst than the ones Letterman told. Also in an interview with Matt Lauer she mentioned the President in this feud; President Obama's name should not have been mentioned in whatever is happening between her and Letterman, the election is over. She loves media attention and is willing to do anything to get it including continuing to make her disfunctional family the center of attention.
