By Robert Schlesinger, Thomas Jefferson Street blog

Veteran Republican operative and political analyst Peter Roff joins the Thomas Jefferson Street gang today, weighing in against the increase in the cigarette tax that started this week (a true April Fools' joke for smokers). I first got to know Peter when he was political director at GOPAC during the Newt era and I was a cub reporter at The Hill. We rarely agree on politics (though he's very good regarding television and movies), but I find his analysis is often astute.

So keep an eye on his blog posts. They'll be interesting.
