It would be a big payday for me as well as for the country by my betting big on Palin to prevail. Oh, and did I ever say that you called Cheney or McCain intellectually inferior? No.

BTW, my perfect candidate would have been Dick Cheney. He would have easily handled intellectual lightweights like Harry “Mr. Peepers” Reid and Nancy “Too Stupid for Prime Time” Pelosi like the silly immature persons that they are.

The purely vicious and often false 8-year personal attacks on Bush and other conservatives like Palin however, were bound to provoke hostile responses from conservatives like me. So here goes J of Texas. Liberals are fond of calling people dumb. They called Reagan an amiable dolt. But all he did was bring the longest prosperity on record out of Jimmy “Crack Corn” Carter’s economic malaise.

Now, the Liberal buzz word/talking point is "intellectually incurious." Well here's an example of an "intellectually incurious" person for you. How come Barky Obama-Mugabe has NEVER produced one word of legal scholarship despite being President of the Harvard Law Review and an adjunct professor at the U of Chicago Law School for 12 years? Could it be that he had something to hide? Does he even know how to think independently or does he need a teleprompter full of the “thoughts” of David Axelrod to express himself articulately? Barky lets others do the writing for him since it's clear that he can't produce much in the way of intellectual content—aside from campaign bumper sticker platitudes. Meanwhile your boy, Joe Biden, solves his English mangling problem by stealing the words of an Irish politician.

You've accused me of having a hatred for the Kennedy’s. Well you’re just projecting your Bush/Palin Derangement Syndrome onto me. My problem with Liberals is purely substantive and not personal. But if the truth be told, Nazis, Fascists, and Communists are just competing brands of Socialism. American Liberalism is "Socialism Light." So any comparison of the various Socialist intellectual bowel movements is as valid as comparing a McDonald's Menu to the Burger King Menu. Both are just as unsatisfying as any mediocre cuisine on the planet. Likewise, comparisons between Socialist economic systems are as equally unsatisfying in that all have all have failed miserably.

Yet, your side gets hypocritically outraged by same treatment you’ve doled out to my side the last 25 years. In the same spirit my Texas “friend” I offer the fervent hope that by June 2009, Obama fails miserably—just as you wished the same for George Bush these last eight years. I also hope to see the American Mugabe dodging shoes from the very people that put him in charge. In the interim will bet heavily on Palin to win over you and your ilk's unjustifiable elitism.

You seem to have a great deal of animosity towards the Kennedys. But "sainted" or not, JFK in his short thousand days was a good leader and that cannot be denied (well I suppose Hannity, Limbaugh, and the right-wing crowd will always try. Hey JFK being a good president is another left-wing media conspiracy. That's it!).

Maybe the Kennedys should have learned more from the nobility of that famous Californian, Richard Nixon.

And liberals blithely label people huh? Much, unlike the upstanding conservatives who compare liberals actually expecting their candidates know something to Nazis, right?

I have the ability to say John McCain was not a bad candidate. George W. Bush and Sarah Palin were intellectually incurious people who had/have no business on the national leadership stage. It has nothing to do with speech (despite the fact that both do mangle the English language).

But maybe those two can get together after Jan 20th and she can ghostwrite his memoirs. He can't see to find anyone else to do it.

What seemed to irritate you Libs most about Bush was that he was inarticulate. You concluded that his poor speech showed low intelligence. If we use your side's standards, Little Caroline's incessant use of "Ya know" in her speech patterns could also be said to indicate low intelligence. In California we'd call her an aging "Valley Girl."

Moreover, the Kennedy family propensity to buy their way into or out of anything could explain the secret of her success. It was rumored that her Daddy, the sainted JFK, had his book, Profiles in Courage, ghostwritten by Ted Sorenson. What if a paid ghostwriter helped produce her books? What if she bought her some of grades in college? Uncle Teddy was alleged to have done that.

But then again you Libs live in a world of intellectual malevolence the likes of which the world hasn’t seen since the heyday of Joseph Goebbels. You Libs blithely label people you don’t like as stupid, racist or fascist when in fact that is the essence of Liberalism’s intellectual foundation.

Of course, the issue is comparing Kennedy and Palin.

And of course, one has the intellect to do the job of a national leader and the other doesn't.

That's what it really boils down to. Conservatives are the bitterest of losers. YOU lost. WE won big. Why did we win big? We won big because YOUR party and YOUR administration has has brought this country to the brink. We are teetering on the edge to total meltdown and it's all thanks to your ENRON-style fiscal tactics and war profiteering. The American middle class has been raped of wealth and our children have been sent overseas to kill poor brown people in the Middle East while the top 1% elitists have had a financial windfall that rivals that of the 1920's. The American people stood up and said NO to Republicans and gave a TRUE MANDATE to Obama because we're tired of being fleeced while the rich feed off of our productivity. The American people are living the unfortunate results of the conservative liars and thieves who have been ruining this country since Reagan. We have seen first-hand the destruction of our economy and our civil rights at the hands of hypocritical right-wingers who talk about morality out of one side of their mouths while calling for war and more war with the other side. All the while, they lie, cheat, steal, and murder in the name of the all-mighty dollar while our eyes are misdirected on petty issues. THIS is why Republicans lost in 2008.

We the people have decided that Obama will repair the damage and bring true equality to our nation. If he is unable to do the job, then we will have to get more extreme and bring in the Green Party next time. One way or another, though, we WILL get Universal Healthcare! We WILL raise the minimum wage! We WILL regulate energy and the financial sector. We WILL keep church & state seperate. We Will create a world in which people will be free enough to realize life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness as was promised by the founding fathers. We WILL do this and we WILL drag you stupid Republicans along kicking & screaming and you WILL thank us in the end! How will we do this? By voting. Every disenfranchised liberal in American now understands that we DO have power. We realize that there actually ARE more of us than of you. Kennedy VS Palin

When I think about the way Democrats treated Sarah Palin, it makes me sick to see how they are praising Caroline Kennedy. Sarah Palin has experience. She is governor of Alaska, which is executive experience and something Caroline Kennedy is lacking. However, Caroline Kennedy is not just lacking executive experience. She is lacking experience, period. She has never held public office and her political career is non-existent. Other than the fact that her last name is Kennedy, what is her claim to fame?

I need to touch on the subject of articulate vs. idiot.

Anyone who has ever sat through a lecture at a university knows that even venerated professors with multiple degrees occasionally misspeak. Even if I find myself diametrically opposed to the views of someone that I am in debate with, I can forgive the occasional lapse in syntax (or a misspoken word here or there) if I can see that the person is at least informed, if not intelligent. Hell, if George Bush only made the OCCASIONAL verbal gaff it would not be newsworthy. BUT when every damn thing out of his mouth sounds like trailer-parkese with a dash of folksy ignorance thrown if for good measure, that goes beyond a gaff and becomes indicative of mental deficiency (or at least intellectual laziness).

Furthermore, using filler sounds such as "uh" and "like" are not liberal habits...that's a West Coast thing. When I lived in California I knew plenty of Republicans who sounded just as "Valley" as the rest of them. Conversely, I met plenty of liberals at grad-school in Vermont who sounded just as preppy as most conservative like to think they are. So, when I judge Sarah Palin's level of intelligence, I'm not basing it on her vocal colloquialisms or the fact that she sound like my wife's grandma from Minneapolis. I am judging her on the CONTENT of what she has to say. What she has to say is NOTHING. When Sarah Paling speaks, third graders wonder "What's wrong with her?"

If that woman could have articulated even ONE cogent idea during her media-fest, I might have taken a different view of her. But the fact is she has embarrassed her own party. Has anyone noticed how all of the smartest and longest-serving Republicans have turned a cold shoulder on her? The only Republicans who are cozying up to her are the bottom-of-the-barrel jack-asses who will be kissing their careers goodbye come the next election.

My only fear is that Palin will divorce her husband, marry Dan Quayle, then give rise to a race of SUPER MORONS that will be so appealing to inbred Republicans from the Bible Belt and Utah that they will rally their base and overthrow our constitutional government and replace it with a Pentacostal Theocracy.

As for Kennedy, I personally wish there was someone else in the wings for the appointment. Even so, even if she suffered a massive brain injury I would have more confidence in her than Palin. Kennedy has no experience, you say? So what? Take a look at your local congressmen and ask yourself, "How many of these clowns were dentists, or lawyers, or businessmen who had no prior political experience before being elected?"

The answer is, more than half. That's right...many of the biggest names in congress where elected to their seats straight from the private sector. Not everyone started out on the school board and then worked their way up. So, coming into the congress "green" is typical and should be no surprise. Happens all the time.

Joe the Conservatives

What is it with conservatives? Do you want stupid people running your country? Because a politician occasionally misspeaks that should not be held against him or her. I will not say Caroline Kennedy is the best candidate for NY Senate but does she have the capacity to do it? Yes. I would not hold an occasional misstatment against Sarah Palin. But thinking the vice-president runs the Senate...are you friggin' kidding me? Not being able to name one publication that might educate her on current events or public policy shouldn't be held against her?

It's time to get a grip folks. We should not want a Joe the Plumber running this nation. It has nothing to do with elitism and everything to do with competence. Would you go to a doctor because she was good looking or, "heck she seemed just like us"? Good grief I hope not.

Kennedy should have to run for this position and not just ascend to it. But the point is if she is appointed she has the competence to do it!
