Barack Obama's Election Gives Us a Rarity: a Positive Instantly Historical Moment

Re BO
I am not certain you followed the same campaign that the rest of the world did. As an educated white Christian male, I am a more than a little offended at your shoeboxing Obama supporters as uneducated blacks.
I must have missed the Obama fixing food stamps and other free stuff speech. I do recall his speech on personal responsibility.
I am glad you are praying to God for protection of the country, I pray the same prayer along with a prayer of protection and guidance for our coutry's elected leaders.
Good lord......the ignorance...@@
This really just cracks me up. When John F. Kennedy ran for president the ignoramuses were aghast that a CATHOLIC might be president, claimed the Pope would be running our country from the Vatican and now half a century later we STILL have idiots who talk this "Chicken Little" nonsense. I hope to God Obama DOES do something about education in this country because it has sure failed to educate a HUGE segment of the population.
Positive instantly hysteric moment?
The reaction to Obama winning the presidential election was an exact reflection of the national reaction to OJ Simpson being acquitted of murder charges - and look how THAT turned out!! That was a historic moment of national stupidity, and I dearly hope this similar reaction does not also turn out as a historic moment of national stupidity. Everyone in the media kept saying this campaign was not one based on race - but interestingly, all of the hulla-baloo after the election is one of "Barack Obama is our first black president". Is that his only noteworthy accomplishment thus far in his life? I also hope this is not the presidency of "The change we are stuck with" (and die as a nation from). Perhaps if the U.S. is still surviving at the end of 2012, a more qualified woman (Condoleeza or Hillary) will be the next noteworthy elected president!
Obama Won White Votes in a Significally Racist America
The whole world knows that white Americans are essentially the definition of racism. That is why this election is making history. The majority of white voters in America, preferred Obama to McCain, not just because he is young, but also because he is the more believable of the two.
Americans (black and white) are loosing their homes and their jobs. The same fate is beffaling black and white in a country, that had previously enjoyed plenty, and cocooned itself, blissfully, in its world super-power status. But that status has eroded. America tries like a headless snake to wield power, but it always does the wrong thing. The world has come to view America has a selfish senselss bully, throwing its weight around just becuase it can.
Whether anyone thinks Obama won because all the illeterate blacks on food stamps, voted for him, or all the ignorant whites in their plush offices voted for him is now irrelevant. The fact remains, he was the better of the two candidates. He was younger, more charismatic, more believable, more profoound. He LOOKED, and SPOKE, more, like an American president should... End of story. Neither McCain, nor Obama, can place their hands on their chest, and claim to know, for sure, what is in store for America or Americans. But or Americans to give themselves a chance, sentimental "I was once a war captive, so I am entitled to rule" motions, cannot and did not help Americans get out of their job loss, or foreclosures... black and white
.
The truth is that blacks are still very much a minority in America. So, it is not the black vote that got him in. In fact, some states of America still relegate their black people in racism. and that is a fact. It is the white voteers, the young like him who dont see color, the charismatic like him, who are tired of politics, who need real human beings in the white house. it was the vote of white workers who lost their homes, and could see no future in sight with four more years of another republican government... these were those who voted him in.
Obama was a highly skilled individual, trained as a lawyer in one of America's best universities. Became a Community worker to give back something into the society that nutured him. How that is a crime, i can never tell. But, ss Hillary Clinton said during the election trail, whether she wins or lose, make no mistake, she said, a Democrat will be in the white house when the election is over. It was long coming. And Obama happened to be there at the time. This is what historic moments are made of. Relish it if you can.
It justconfirms, that anyone can be anything they choose to be, IN AMERICA (black or white). The land of dreams, hopes, aspirations and opportunities. AMERICA!! It could be your turn next, who knows. But you must want it, and work at it...
Historic Moment!
I think you misspelled historic! You should have spelled it histerical!! This unfit, unqualified President will lead us to ruin! If MLK got his reward, I forsee the same fate for Mohamed! Might be the only way to save the country!!!!
Obama
Not since that sex adict defiled the White House has there been such a disaser as Mohamed Obama's e;ection! Guess there will be boggying down the halls and shouts of " you dirty MF" resonating in the hallowed rooms of the White House! What joy,the bastardization of our country!!!!!!!!Send Obama and his family back to Kenya!! Bet his daughters won't go to a public school in DC,aka definitely colored! You residents of DC are good enough to vote for him but not good enough for his kids to associate with yours!!
Historic moment?
Depending on the next 4 years, it may be remembered as historically stupid, the moment when the entire nation drank the Kool-Aid. Obama won the election, congratulations, now we will see if he can govern. I think that he will have a difficult time dealing with complex problems, just like McCain would have, and the new slogan might be something like "The change we are stuck with"!
BO
Obama is in glory at the helm of my country at this moment. But I foresee, a nation of conflict. Issues will soon arise and I hope that these kids whom voted in groves, understand that even if the war in Iraq & Afghanistan ends , that the dangers of IRAN and other nations will soon be the next wars to come.
My thoughts are that most of the young votes from campus's and street corners voted to end the war more then any other issue because they them selves were very afraid of a draft that sooner or later may have taken place. As for a large majority of new voters I also believe, that the Black's voted mainly for race, without any understanding of any kind of politics in there country.
Most NOT all were uneducated academically, most are high school drop outs, and voted strictly because they were of a black or mixed black race and thought that vote stood for more free stuff, because Obama did preach that he would fix many if not all of there ills including unemployment food stamps and help of all kinds. To them it was shall I say "Christmas".
Then those of the not ghetto minded that are educated some beyond whites indeed, finally had the opportunity to vote , what they had been denied in there raising, or in their parent's time, post civil rights war I am referring too.
And I do also believe that whites have grown too past that civil era also . I assume that Martin Luther King would have been very proud of one of his own kind as president of the USA. And I do not begrudge anyone for that .
I personally just feel that Obama can not with all his promises and his radical inspirations be what America thought they were voting for and only time will tell, he has 4 years. I hope I am
wrong and he is all that he can be for the sake of my Country. God I hope he protects her with his own life, because I am afraid if he does not the tables will turn on him and I shutter to think what the end results just may be.
Congratulation Mr. Obama
Please, send by me to Mr. Obama congratulation for your win.
