Polls Show Barack Obama Is Competitive Against John McCain in Arizona
The funniest/weirdest poll numbers I've seen this week are coming out of Arizona. Three polls were released this week showing that John McCain holds a single-digit lead in his home state. One poll has the lead at a mere 2 percentage points. Seriously?
Apparently so: The McCain campaign has started spending money on robo-calls in Arizona.

Evolving Arizona
Arizona has traditional clung to classic fiscal conservative traditions and used to have a strong and vital military presence too. Our bases have been cut back or eliminated, our population has grown and become more diverse. The old Barry Goldwater conservatives are dying off or growing much more mellow, as he did too before he died.
It is a welcome change from my point of view. Both philosophies bring something to the table, but in recent years the Religious Right had skewed the party into territory that too many moderates do not wish to go. Obama is a welcome breath of fresh and intellectual air. This old moderate is more than willing to take a chance on him, and hope mightily for his success!
Old Coke vs. New Coke
Arizona elected Original McCain to the Senate. New McCain isn't worthy of the Presidency and the Arizona Poll numbers show that. Nasty Robo-calls from New McCain will go over as well as New Coke. He never should have messed with the original formula.
It's pretty bad when you can't even win over your own state. It doesn't surprise me, though. The largest newspaper in Alaska didn't even endorse Sarah Palin. Doesn't that make you wonder? Even major republicans are endorsing Obama. Just because McCain is a war hero, which I respect, it doesn't mean that he should automatically be the President of the United States. We've had 8 republicatn years...come on, give Obama a chance!
