Knowledge

Isn't a VP supposed to know things? Sara Palin doesn't know anything. She doesn't answer questions because she doesn't know anything. She doesn't understand the questions. She should stop calling Obama a socialist because I am sure she doesn't even know what socialism is. She is clearly out of her league!

Sara Palin

She is definetly not Hillary Clinton; and if Mcain thinks we would vote for her based on her gender he is too deeply entrenched in the good old boy thinking to be President of anything. I supported Ms Clinton because she is smart, articulate, and knows the issues; I supported her because she is pro choice; believes people are responsible for global warming, and universial health care. Sara Palin will not get my vote. I now support Barack Obama; for all the same reasons I supported Hillary.

Sara Palin and Feminists

I am a 59 year old feminist with four granddaughters. I have been a political activist since the 60's. I am so happy to see how little my granddaughters think gender limits them. Because of the laws we passed in the 70's they have not equal but at least more equal access to achieving whatever they want. Both Hillary Clinton and Sara Palin are also a testament to our progress in assuring women more choices. I am however deeply offended by the selection of Sara Palin to be a heartbeat away from the office President of the United States. I don't like McCain and would not vote for him anyway but I think he is qualified to be President. Although Barak Obama is relatively young his accomplishments are significant, his intellect and ability proved in several arenas. He has the judgement and gravitas we need to make the very difficult decisions facing this country. Sara Palin on the other hand acts as if this is a show. She has exactly zero demonstrated knowledge nor did she even address the key issues facing this country. A woman with five children ought to be talking about the policies we need to make sure families can take care of their children so that women and men can achieve the American Dream. And frankly and honestly I am offended by her parading her pregant daughter and her obviously reluctant boyfriend as some kine of success. My 18 year old granddaughter is pregnant and while I will love and accept the baby, it is an unfortunate circumstance and I cannot imagine exposing her at such a difficult time to such public scrutiny. I was an 18 year old mother myself. I know how hard it is. It is a situation that calls for a lot of family support not political drama. If Sara Palin was a Democrat, conservatives would be ripping her to pieces for her lack of "family values." What I hate is the total hypocrisy of this choice and the total terror of the possibility of her becoming President and leader of the free world.

I thought you were kidding!

This is too funny. I'm a registered Republican who has been pretty apathetic about this election UNTIL Sarah Palin was asked to be John McCain's running mate. After several days of reading everything I can find about her, I am convinced that she will not only make a good Vice President, but would make one heck of a president. What our government (and our media) needs more than ANYTHING else is integrity... and I am 100% convince that Sarah Palin has it in spades. She has courage, conviction, and from what I've read can hold her own.

Your comments about McCain bringing her onto the ticket to get the Hillary votes is WAY out of line. I thought that perhaps I had mistakenly come across a satirical or comedy site. It sure wasl a surprise when I realized that you consider yourself a political authority.

If you would just take a serious unbiased look at Ms. Palin's accomplishments, you would realize that she is the epitome of what our elected leader are supposed to be.

palin

Sarah Palin has demonstrated her incompetence as a mother by parading her unwed pregnant teen to America as a role model to our youth. She disgusts me. I have a 16 year old daughter who values education and has been taught that teen sex is dangerous and foolhardy. She is a 4.2gpa, star athlete and is being recruited by ivy league colleges. My daughter represents the embodiment of true family values, not Palin's shameful loser kid. She is an embarassment to the families of America!

Bravo as always Robert, I wholeheartedly agree with and support you.

As a woman and a mother and an intelligent american I am horrified, deeply offended and terrified that Sarah Palin may in just a few months be our Vice President. She does not represent me or my family values. I want our President and Vice President to be smarter, more qualified and prepared, more worldly and more serious and focused than I am, not "just like me" (which she isn't anyway).

I would NEVER vote for someone just becuase they are a woman and the insinuation that any woman would is deeply offensive. You don't have to have a child with Down's Syndrome to be an advocate for all children. You don't have to be a woman to stand up for women's rights. Clearly Palin is doing neither in her own home, why should I trust her to do so for our country. Oh, and by the way, Barack and Michele Obama thought long and hard about the effect on their children that running for President would have and prepared accordingly with the best interest of their family always at the forefront. They discussed this responsibly with the media and continue to be responsible for and about their family's needs. They did not make the decision to run overnight on a whim with very little forethought, preparation or planning (as Palin has).

Sarah who?

That is what I said to myself when I first heard the name of McCain's VP pick . . and then I thought, what the heck is McCain thinking? I actually became afraid with the thought that this individual could be President if indeed something happened to McCain.

and I have to agree with another poster who said:

All I can think is how humiliating and frustrating it must be for the many dedicated women who actually ARE qualified to stand in her role. Woman who have been working toward building deep understanding of the economics, foreign affairs, political consensus building, and policy how-to to really be effective leaders.

The arrogance and the ignorance

McCain made the most un-maverick choice of all when he chose Palin. It was a Hail Mary pass supposedly to assuage the religious right as well as disenchanted Hillary voters, and it is an insult to every woman who shares Hillary's views. Proof in Palin's extreme right wing views that defy the most basic women's issues can be found through this non-partisan site: http://www.ontheissues.org/Sarah_Palin.htm

In fact, this choice was not just insulting to women; this is a slap in the face to ALL Americans who would be left with this creationist, anti-environmental, aw-shucks hypocritical gift to the Christian Coalition should, God forbid, McCain win then leave the highest responsibility in the land to this neophyte.

Sarah Palin

In case you wise and know all liberals don't know it, A Governor has more executive experience than any legislators. Every state in this Union is designed to be a small country with a President (Governor), a Vice President(Lt. Governor in most cases) a supreme court, a house of representatives and a Senate. A governor makes the same kind of Executive decisions as the President, just on a smaller scale. Gov. Palins learning curve will be far less that Obama's as he's only had legislative experience and half of his time in office has been spent running for president.

And if Attacking Sarah Palins family is "Change we can believe in" then count me out. I'm a democrat but I'll vote for McCain Palin before I'll put a group of Fascist Liberals in the white house.

I do not believe the "vetting" process is completely finished. I have a friend who is an Alaska native who tells me the worst days are coming in late October. Look for the liberals and far-left wakos to release nude pictures of Ms. Palin allegedly taken some twenty-plus years ago.
