No More Bags at University of Michigan Football Games
Don't bring a bag of any kind to future University of Michigan football home games: You won't be able to bring it inside anymore.
Michigan's Department of Public Safety has ruled that no bags—purses, backpacks, camera bags, fanny packs—will be allowed at Michigan Stadium, the Michigan Daily reports. If entrants have to carry medical-related objects into the stadium, they must be carried in a clear plastic bag no larger than the gallon size and presented with a medical note, the report says.
The ruling stems from a desire to allow police and other security personnel to focus on larger safety concerns at games.
"[Security] will be able to focus their attention on other security measures and not be distracted by a lot of bags and wondering what is in those bags," Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Diane Brown tells the Daily.
Bags were originally banned from the Big House following Sept. 11, 2001. The ban stayed in place through the 2002 season, when students had to show valid university identification to enter the stadium, the report says. The ban ended after the 2002 season.

Who cares?
It's not like anybody has a reason to go inside the stadium anymore anyways. Living in Michigan and complaining about the stupidity is like living in Arizona and complaining about the heat.

We would not want to inconvenience the security people. Why not just shut down the stadium.
Do these people have any clue what risk management is? These measures do not increase the security at all and is an example where the preventative measure are worse then what they truly solve.
You can not stop all risks unless you stop living.
Who is reviewing these decisions anyway? Who is protecting us from their bad decisions?
