Michigan State Allows Concealed Weapons on Campus

Stop hyperventilating
"I would feel significantly less safe with a bunch of 18 year olds toting pistols in my classroom than I do now simply because. . . . "
Eighteen year olds cannot possess a concealed weapons permit. You must be at least twenty-one, have undergone firearms training, been fingerprinted and had a police check to qualify. The only eighteen year old pistol toting person you need to worry about is one who is carry illegally.
It's about time someone set a good example for law abiding gun owners!
It's about time a Major Institution set a good example for law abiding gun owners!
We need this kind of action to take root all across America, "NOT" SB 2099 reporting guns to I.R.S. and paying a tax on them too! (haven't heard about that??) I would like to think it is a hoax but I am concerned that it may be true.
Has anyone else heard about Senate Bill 2099?
Oh No
The Debate about weapons will never end in this country. Its as bad as any polarizing debate in this country.
But this law is getting personal. I would feel significantly less safe with a bunch of 18 year olds toting pistols in my classroom than I do now simply because the likelihood that the 18 year old chach decides to get wasted or high and shoot off his firearm is a lot more likely than a lunatic coming into my class room and shooting me. Just go to any number of campus parties and see for yourself how these belligerents behave.
Its about prevention, people, not protection.
Sold Out to the NRA?
Don't you mean they 'Sold Out' to the Constitution of The United States of America?
Give me a break. This is not about the NRA, this is about law-abiding citizens being able
to protect themselves and maybe even you.
Good deal
I think the University just grew some balls. Now they need to allow the students with permits to carry in the classrooms and everyone is safer. Funny how no one with permits go on shooting sprees at Walmart or anywhere else, but somehow on college campus they're going to go ballistic for getting a bad grade or something?? Get real. Way to go Michigan.
this is sad
the university needs to grow some balls. Maybe the state sold out to the NRA, that doesn't mean the school has to as well.
