This is great!

I personally think this is awesome. For students Apple has this promotion during the summer buy any laptop and get a free ipod touch. I did it my freshman year, saved me $300. And you can write it off. Although I think its a bit wrong to take Apple's side only, I wonder what that university gets out of it.

computer

I would get a computer before I would get an i pod. Computers are much more useful and distracting.

Of course both requires discipline.

I just wish the books were now on CD or memory stick. Most people do not realize it but a camera card can be made read only like floppies used to do.

Whats the big deal?

Like "dont trip" said the school is a journalism school and they put the apple products on the required list so that those who are using financial aide can use some of that aide in purchasing one or the other. The article also said that the students can watch the lecture on their laptop too if they want.

wat are u all talking about

the article said, theyre placing iphones as required so students could buy them with financial aid. some of u r acting as if its the end of education

loosen up ppl

this is so sad and pathetic

wow what have our lives become? requiring iphones? wow sad..it's as if we can't concentrate if we just use our EARS and EYES. Think about all the people who can't afford the high-end technologies...getting a laptop in college is great with me but anything other than that is excessive and just called reliance. What about all the other people in all the other high schools in the other places, will they get a worse education because they can't buy iphones? These things are suppose to be BANNED from school because they distract us students, not because it's fashionable and popular. Is this going to make this school better on the ranking or whatever just because it does this? I certainly hope not...it would bother alot of people.

By the way, go Paulo Verdes High and Troy, they own.

Too bad

that a public university focuses on a brand name. BUT, recording a lecture and listening again has always been a good idea.

More like...

Apple has MU in their pocket. They have required J-school students to have mac crap for years. Now they pull this? Pathetic.

Might as well brand it the Reynolds-Apple journalism institute
