UC-San Diego Sends Welcome E-Mails to Rejected Students

The University of California-San Diego made a big oopsie Monday night when it sent all its applicants an E-mail welcoming them to the school, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports. Unfortunately, more than 28,000 of those students had already been rejected, leading to a night of confusion and disappointment for students and chaos for admissions officials.

The E-mail invited students to an orientation and began with these warm words: "We're thrilled that you've been admitted to UC San Diego."

School officials quickly realized their mistake. Within two hours, an apology E-mail was sent to all students.
