LSU to Fine Students $50 for File Sharing
To deter students from illegal file-sharing, Louisiana State University will levy a $50 fine on students who are identified by the Recording Industry Association of America as someone downloading illegally on an LSU network, the Daily Reveille reports.
The policy will be effective August 1, and the fine will show up on a student's personal online access account, much like a library or parking fee.

You are guilty or you are not. IF YOU ARE $50.00 is NOT much of a deterrant (misspelled) for students with "well to do" parents. ANY cheating in ANY way/shape/form is ILLEGAL in this country. If the student or the parent can't pay...suspend said students/WORK it off....NOT let them off with a little slap on hand, (And if it were MY child, I WOULD be repaid)
So LSU now works for RIAA?
What ever happened to "innocent till proven guilty?" What is LSU getting for being the enforcer for RIAA?
