Georgia State Applications Jump 25 Percent

Georgia's public colleges have seen an enormous jump in freshman applications this year, with Georgia State boasting a 25 percent increase over last year, the Signal & Urbanite reports. Georgia State received around 10,500 applications this year.

In contrast, smaller and more expensive private schools have seen a decrease in interest. Nearby Emory saw its undergraduate applications drop more than 10 percent this year.
