A handful of Grand Valley State students protested at the Ottawa County (Mich.) sheriff's office, demanding to know more about the shooting of a GVSU student by a deputy last week, the Holland Sentinel reports. Derek Copp, 20, was shot in the chest while police were executing a drug-related warrant at the student's off-campus apartment.

Investigators said the 20-year-old student did not threaten or confront police when they entered the residence. Police have not revealed what drug they were searching for or if they recovered any narcotics in the apartment.

The protesters said the police have agreed be more communicative.
