Computer Science Rising in Popularity, Again

A new report from the Computing Research Association suggests that interest in computer science is on the rise again and that total enrollment in computer science majors and pre-majors (including bachelor's, master's, and Ph.D.) is up 6.2 percent, the first rise in six years, the Chronicle of Higher Education reports.

The survey also found that the demography of computer science programs has not changed much. They still tend to be white or Asian, and male. Almost 66 percent are white, 15.5 percent are Asian, and 88 percent are male.
