Southeastern Might Lose Accreditation
Southeastern University, a small, private institution in Washington, D.C., is expecting to soon lose its accreditation, Inside Higher Ed reports. The Middle States Commission on Higher Education said it would "strip its approval by the end of August because of the university's failure to comply with a wide range of standards governing finances, faculty quality, admissions, and assessment, among others."
The school plans to appeal the accrediting body's decision but has also talked about plans to merge with the GS Graduate School, an adult continuing education program affiliated with the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Perhaps Southeastern
is a mess, but I think you should worry more about whether there really is any intrinsic value in the game of accreditation.
For goodness sakes, all your public high schools are "accredited" and many-to-most of them are failing. Is it just me, or does this all sum up to DUH?
