Ohio State Transfers Graduate at Lower Rate

Much like they do at other large universities, transfer students at Ohio State in Columbus graduate at a lower rate than traditional students, and students from outside the Ohio State system fare the worst, the Lantern reports.

Traditional students graduate in six years at the rate of 72.7 percent; those who transfer from a regional campus in the first two years at 63.8; and those from outside the system at 58.5 percent.

The difference apparently doesn't surprise admissions officials. They say that transfers tend to have lower ACT scores and come from less competitive environments.
