As a 1993 Penn Satte alumni, I wholeheartedly disagree with you, Ryan. They're dissatisfied with a state budget proposal that would cut $20.3 million from Penn State and exclude the school from a tuition-aid program aimed at low-income students. What's either confusing or reprehensible about that??? Of course, based on the information at their disposal, it's obvious they should have outlined a suitable counterproposal to validate their argument. Right, Ryan? After all, they're all politicians, lawyers, and accountants for the state... and not just college students who are genuinely worried about their institution.
We, as Americans, have a right to stand up against something we recognize as unjust! You didn't know that? Then again, perhaps you simply think they're wrong because they're opposing Rendell, who's a democrat, and democrats can do no wrong. I'm guessing that's much more likely.
Governor's budget protest
As a 2001 Penn State alumni, what alternatives to the state budget shortfall are these PSU protestors proposing? Without suggesting any other options, they come across as a bunch of kids who just had their candy taken away. Protesting is only effective when you have leverage.
