Virginia Tech Already Predicts Housing Crunch
Virginia Tech is already preparing for a housing shortage next year after 350 more freshmen so far plan to enroll than last year, the Collegiate Times reports. Freshmen are guaranteed housing.
Because of the influx of freshmen, more returning students have been denied housing. Just 75 percent of sophomores, juniors, and seniors who applied to live on campus have received a spot in the dorms.

would it be feasable for tech to buy some larger older homes with lots of bedrooms for students? just a thought! I actually have a house that I am getting ready to sell with over 4000 sf. 5 br 2.5 bth with an extra 2200 sf. dwelling on property of 1.17 acres of land. There is a possibility of putting 17 townhouses on this extra lot with a zoning change. It is R-3 now and we do have a business license. The house is in excellent condition all remodeled w/ wash/dry units on both levels, 26x28 family rm paved drive w/plenty of off street parking, right in town of c/burg.
