A gunman wearing a wig robbed an English class at LeMoyne-Owen College in Memphis Thursday morning, the Associated Press reports. The school's president says 18 students were in the class when a man with a handgun told them to toss their purses and wallets on the floor.

Classes were canceled for the rest of the day, and the school was on lockdown briefly after the incident. Police made no immediate arrests.
