Joe Paterno's Glasses Stolen

January 05, 2009 02:48 PM ET | Alison Go | Permanent Link | Print

Perhaps it was the shame after USC's 38-to-24 drumming of Penn State in the Rose Bowl, but someone stole the "Coke-bottle glasses" off a Joe Paterno statue on the east side of Penn State's Beaver Stadium some time between 11 a.m. Friday and 10:58 a.m. Saturday, the Daily Collegian reports. Police have no estimate of the value of the stolen item.

Sorry about the spelling mistakes - try this one!

This story about Joe Paterno's statues stolen specs is like a very similar story last week in India EXCEPT in India there was a riot and the police were called in... Not to find the missing spec but to stop the opposing factions killing each other over allegations of the theft! These ones were replaced by a tin can copy to stop the troulbe! Maybe Joe's could be replaced by a fashioned coke bottle or two.
