Universities Adjust to Tomato Scare
As a result of the tomato salmonella scare that is gripping the nation, universities like Louisiana State and Michigan State have halted shipment of or dumped their tomato supplies and plan to go without the fruit in university dining halls and establishments until the FDA lifts its warning.
At the University of Texas, dining services officials decided Friday to buy only locally grown tomatoes since the state's supply has been deemed safe, the Daily Texan reports. Although Texas is one of the major tomato-providing regions in the nation (along with California and Florida), officials expect to run out of the fruit by the end of the summer if the FDA warning isn't lifted by then.

I use a Bio-Citrus anti-microbial foam made by Bio-Secur for my hands (no alcohol - I love it) and they have other products as well. I bet they have something that would help with the recent Salmonella problem and the Ecoli scare of last year. I understand that the compound is non-toxic and USDA certified organic and they have testing stating that it is effective in killing both Salmonella and E-coli bacteria. I go to their website all the time looking for new products at www.biosecur.com and the phone number I order from is (949) 273-0600.
