Students Agog Over Pope's Arrival

If you haven't heard, the pope is in the United States—and he visited Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., Thursday. The Tower newspaper created a blog, The Pope at CUA, to track the pontiff's D.C. whereabouts.
Luckily for the journalists looking for more time to write stories and blog posts, the school canceled class Wednesday and Thursday—which also allowed students to begin camping out hours before the pope's speech to Catholic educators Thursday evening. Students—who were not invited to attend the speech—mostly waited to catch a glimpse and snap a photo of the papal motorcade. Some came prepared, dressed in pope-themed T-shirts, while others welcomed the pope in the medium most comfortable to this generation: YouTube. Take 9 minutes and 28 seconds of your life to follow a pair of rain boots through D.C. and back to the campus of excited students at CUA. Check out the 5:13 mark for papal cheerleaders, and 8:28 for bloopers. Do you think Benedict XVI watches online video?
