President Shirley Ann Jackson

Is Shirley Ann Jackson even immensely qualified to become the president of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute? Since Shirley Ann Jackson is African-American and female, I'm certain that she was appointed by New York liberals to create a politely correct environment, which I think is okay.

Through her overtly monetary ambitions, she has shown that she is a disgrace to herself and her race. I'm certain that some other liberals will not further try to create politely correct environments by hiring people like her, who is probably not even particularly qualified for the position.

To Shirley Ann Jackson: At least keep the money in the good'ol USA. Do not send the money you received from the American tax payers and the hard working RPI students and their parents to do some Oprah Winfry style philanthropy in some other continent.

hire packages and perks for college presidents in usa

All college presidents in all of the usa are overpaid idiots who are usually friendly with board of trustee members who aren,t much smarter than the students that are taught at the colleges they attend.Let,s face the fact that over the years ,salaries have been raised to astonomical proportions for these kind of positions unjustly so, for what they do on the job and what the true value of the position should be.Be assured that trustees most probably are overpaid for what they do also. These are the reasons that our children are haveing such a hard time to go to college because of the high cost and loan payoffs.College profs are not absolved from this.they to are overpaid because off perks and benefits also afforded them. Most colleges pay enough to their employees that they should be paying their benefit packages out of pocket from their own wages. They all think they,re little gods.

Blame the dang board

You are witnessing yet another board of directors that ill-serves the students, faculty, parents and society. The "board" model is broken.

When, in order to serve on a board, you must put up a cash bond forfeitable unless certain objectives are met, you will see some decent governance.

Replacement for Clinton???

Shirley Ann Jackson being considered as a replacement for Hillary Clinton? Of course, that wouldn't have ANYTHING to do with the generous donations (that came from RPI's budget) made to further her political agenda . I hope that the students and their parents realize that their tuition money is being divvied out to political entities and foreign governments! This woman is a disgrace and shouldn't resign, she should be FIRED. Perhaps the board of trustees could let her keep the RPI-owned $450,000 Adirondack getaway as a part of her severance package?

RPI students - you have the only voice that can rid Rensselaer of this atrocity. Use it!

Overrated

Dr, Jackson is another one of the numerous national parasites who simply pillage the coffers of the institutions (banks, insurance companies, universities, etc.) they supposedly serve and leave with a small fortune while those remaining have to pick up the pieces. Yes she has a great national press but her poor management and people skills as well as disasterous fiscal judgments will leave my alma mater in tatters for the next decade or so. As usual the Board of Directors, who are also "on the take", stood by and did nothing.
