things have changed at penn state

A lot of you guys are lucky. Penn state didn't used to send out accepted letters until after the new year. If you did get an acceptance letter it was because you applied to a branch which isn't a bad idea. Also Penn state is one of the most competitive schools to get into that is not an ivy league.(In 2008 penn state had about 120000 applications for 7,000 freshmen slot for Upark. Few thing to consider. Grades and SAT scores don't cut it anymore you need to show you are well rounded lots of activities. Next applying for summer is a big plus too because its usually a little better chance, plus you get to learn your way around the college before its fill to the breaking point.

I know a lot of these hints are a little late. Congrats to the people who got in.

To the people who have been sent to branch campuses, if you really want to go to penn state i would strongly suggest going to the branch.

To everyone else you goes to different colleges, good luck and if you truly hate it you can always try to transfer to penn state, though it can be very difficult. Believe I Know.

We are .......... Penn State

waiting

i was told my phone call, that would be accepted (from this admission lady). and ill have a letter by this monday....NO LETTER. i hope i get it soon.

I STLL DIDNT HEAR!!

I sent my application in early september for engineering and still havent heard back! A lot of people from my school have. I have a 3.74, 16 honors and AP classes, and a 1220(R&M) SAT 1880 total. What do you think my odds are and when do you think I will hear? This has been a very long admittance process especially since they are trying to shorten it. Its my number one choice and I am dying to go there.

accepted!

i got my acceptance letter from penn state university park two weeks ago! totally reduced my anxiety level lol

NO..

You will definitely get into Penn state but probably not Penn State Main. maybe another campus and then transfer to main campus after two years. The best part is that your parents can save a couple of bucks the these couple of years that we are in a recession. Then in a few years you can save and go in your junior year to State College. You will graduate from University Park and no will know the difference. I did this myself. I saved a lot of money.

acceptance letters to Penn state

Dear Jesse of NJ. Congrats on getting accepted. I really want to go to University Park but have not heard anything yet. I applied early-end of Sept. How were your scores and GPA? Does Penn offer any kind of Academic Scholarships? I just heard from St.Johns in Ny and was accepted and they offered a decent academic one but Penn is really where I want to go. Should I be nervous that I havent heard from them yet? I have a weighted GPA of 3.5 and scored a !900 on the SAT. Thanks for any info.
