Obama Quietly Revokes His Plan for a Draft

Earlier today we posted about Barack Obama’s plan to require community service from middle school, high school, and college students. This is how it read at the time:
The Obama Administration will call on Americans to serve in order to meet the nation’s challenges. President-Elect Obama will expand national service programs like AmeriCorps and Peace Corps and will create a new Classroom Corps to help teachers in underserved schools, as well as a new Health Corps, Clean Energy Corps, and Veterans Corps. Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by developing a plan to require 50 hours of community service in middle school and high school and 100 hours of community service in college every year. Obama will encourage retiring Americans to serve by improving programs available for individuals over age 55, while at the same time promoting youth programs such as Youth Build and Head Start.
Lo and behold. Tonight, after the plan was publicized, Obama has quietly thrown that “requirement” part down the memory hole: America Serves.

Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by setting a goal that all middle school and high school students do 50 hours of community service a year and by developing a plan so that all college students who conduct 100 hours of community service receive a universal and fully refundable tax credit ensuring that the first $4,000 of their college education is completely free. Obama will encourage retiring Americans to serve by improving programs available for individuals over age 55, while at the same time promoting youth programs such as Youth Build and Head Start.

Amazing that these two men live in the same close community where Obama met them both, share ideals and admiration for Black Liberation and after all these years they claim never to have met! I think this is only believable to a journalist--even a six year old of average IQ would find this unbelievable. About that bridge you are selling in NY.....

We could have had a hero and a real reformer who took on the corrupt Republican establishment of her state. Now we have desperately turned to a man who's intentions are unknown. It is troubling enough that we've had a President for eight years who used the Constitution so selectively and claimed to be a strict-constructionist. Now we have selected a man who has outright said that he wants to subvert it. It troubles me that there are some in this country that would have loved for Bush to have brought about a full-blown Fascist state after 9/11. Now, with the financial crisis, some may want to bring about a Socialist state. It is troubling. Obama has an obligation to this country to govern within the bounds of our Constitution, our economic system, and our heritage. There will be an "Impeach Obama" movement if he tries to bring about any radical policies advocated by these two America haters.

No Fame or Glory
These two men deserve no fame or glory for anything they have done. Everytime one of them opens their mouth it is insulting to the American people. As far as dignity goes, they should have walked away with none, zelch!!! And Rev. Wright granted he is not a known murderer just a racist, he should still be accountable for pollutiing the mind of our youth. Listening to such garbage and taking Rev. Wright on as a possible role model will eliminate any fair opportunities for the innocent children. Ayers garbarge from the start. Not only did he help create the bombs and set them off he killed innocent people with no remorse. This convicted murderer terrorist should not be teaching our kids in classrooms.

sweet retribution indeed. After putting up with over eight years of Democrats whining and incessant insults we of the party have the next four years to call them all the names they've been calling us for the past eight years. They got a democrat congress two years ago and have done nothing of consequence since to benefit the American people. We honestly wish the new president well even with the awareness that his initials (B.O.) suggest a need for a liberal application of Lifeboy soap.Some of the current vitriol beng spewed forth by these imbeciles, particularly toward Sarah Palin invokes no endorsements, only contempt. VIVA America. We will survive even though the DDD's (damn dumb democrats) will do their darndest to sink the ship.

Now that they got their radical friend elected we will see A LOT more of them adn the rest of the gang.
