College Suspends Four Students Over Obama Display
Four George Fox University students have admitted to hanging a cardboard cutout of Sen. Barack Obama from a tree last week, the Oregonian reports. The students face long-term suspension, and authorities have not disclosed any motivations for last week's incident. The display featured the Obama likeness with an "Act Six Reject" sign, referring to a Portland scholarship program targeted to low-income students.
The investigation had closed in on the students late last week, but officials at the small Oregon Christian college stopped short of expulsion. The students' names are not being released; they may be allowed to re-enter school after completing community service and multicultural education.
The FBI and Secret Service continue to investigate whether a hate crime or a threat has occurred.

Time Is Running Out...
Don't count your chickens before they hatch. It anin't over till it is over. I want to keep my FREEDOM, MY GUNS AND MY MONEY...you liberals can keep the Change.
Deep Apology
I see no evidence George Fox is not doing all it can to make right where there has been a wrong--and to not seek to guide its own existence (and life of students) into a more just world.
If there was criminal activity then I expect the crime to be prosecuted. But a community has greater responsibility than meting out penalties for crimes. The institution seems to be working at the higher standard. They are dealing with young adults at a very formative stage of life and seeking to redeem where persons have both sinned and persons have been sinned against.
To those who see Christians as being hateful and hurtful I am very sorry we have not lived in a way so as express the compassion, mercies and justice of Jesus.
