Dream Act, Thank you Governator

Yes, why should illegal residents be given any consideration or even be allowed into our colleges. They are here to work at jobs that "real Americans" do not want to do. They are not part of our society.They do pay taxes every time they buy anything whether it be a dress or when they directly or directly pay real estates taxes; however, we are not talking about fairness. We should of course not forget that they will be part of our society for the rest of their lives and we know that we would prefer a resident (even if illegal) that can not obtain their full potential which would in turn help society (us).Another great idea from the Republicans, let us foment a regressive society. Stop the Dream Act. Thank you Mr. America, the Governator.

Not just about money...

The DREAM Act gives illegal children who were brought here ILLEGALLY by their PARENTS. These children do not have a choice. Yet, America educates them with no questions asked from grades K-12 then expects them to live productivly as adults not having the ability to obtain jobs. With no other alternatives these children, who are now adults, turn to fraudulant behaviors such as identity theft. It is extremly important for Americans to look beyond the "illegal" aspect of it and see that we are already spending hundreds of billions of dollars on these kids for them to turn into an unproductive part of society because they have no other options. If given an option such as the DREAM Act children will know they have to continue and education, work and live as productive citizens or face deportation.....sounds like an option that could work.

My son's best friend, whom I love dearly, has been here illegally since the age of 8 and is now almost 17. He is an outstanding 4.0 student, great athlete, and helps our community more than many legal students. My heart broke when he found out he was illegal and he told me he's going to end up in the fields. His Veterinarian dreams could be gone! It saddens me to know his future will have to stop next year when he graduates because of the ignorant choices of his parents. I support the DREAM Act 100% and hope it passes before he graduates. This law is for good, law abiding, hard working students---not the others....so take your choice support it and give these kids the chance to succeed or don't support it and these kids will still be here 10, 15, 20 years from now frauding the government, on welfare, uneducated and more than likely filling our prison systems.

What is Illegal immigrant?

What can you say for those who tried their best to be documented? Ones who are in Limbos. The ones who did their best to be legal but rejected anyway because of prejudices? They pay taxes but receive zero assistance. They're providing you, citizens, for your child's education from their taxes while their children can only scrape whatever money they can find to pay full tuition because they were denied from financial aid? What have you to say to that?

just because WE are labled as 'illegal aliens' doesnt mean we are CRIMINALS! we shouldnt be to blame for the decisions our parents made when we were younger! personally i was brought to this country at the age of 6 LEGALY with a visa i only became illegal after i stayed here to live,something that wasnt my choice to begin with. now i am 18 years old, and trying to get a college education, which is hard considering that my parents have to pay for everything, on top of paying bills, with absolutely no money, since my dad cant get a job because the law says hes a criminal. all because he is trying to give his family a better life. i want to know if i get good grades, pay taxes [because belive it or not we do pay taxes] u dont need a ssn to do that...if i go to college, never been introuble with the law do community service, dont do drugs. dont break the law, then WHY AM I A CRIMINAL? what about all those 'u.s. citizens' that are crowding up the prison system? why dont you take their resources away? before you go around and label people that you personaly dont know,try going through what their going through, try exoeriencing their life, see if you got something to say then, and in case you dont know your history THIS COUNTRY WAS BUILT BY IMMIGRANTS! i dont think so. Put yourself in my shoes i was brought to the u.s when i was only one week old, yeah i can see where I made a choice to break the law. I agree with the people who do not want their taxes to be used for my education, but your taxes are also being used to shelter, feed, and in some situations educate a person who is in prison. So who would you rather give that opportunity to, someone who is trying to live a better life, or the other trying to take yours away.

Even if there is like 3 smart illegals for every thousand, who gives a damn, we dont need any more professionals or skilled labor. Let all of the pot smoking, thumb suckers, easy going,selfish materialists bastards, letter grade getters overachievers that are actually AMERICAN take care of everything.Or better yet lets re-elect Bush, so we have the olimcic games in Iraq!

There is no need for further explaining, why let illegals that have actually stuggled with making rent since they were 15 go to school so they can what? invest money or open businesses, get their Phd's and perhaps rescue our lazy american asses from an economic cycle that will take us to bancrupcy hell. None sense, those illegals should go somewhere else like germany, china or other getto countries that have let USA have some money to pay for gas.

People dont realize that some of these people who you guys are calling criminals came here at a very young age not on their own. Is it fair to grant them a free college education since they spent their whole life here with the tax payer's already invested in their education from junior and high school maybe yes or maybe no. Either way tax dollars are doing much much worst than granting a life of opportunity to another human being. After all, these investments will earn America much more in the future with more professionals, inventors and businesses allowing us to compete in the global market. Congress needs to tackle and reform immigration laws as a whole. But they re to afraid to do so... because it's not a popular topic. That's leadership people.

These "brave" people need to demand better of their own countries. I wish the demonstrators and librals would go there and help them! Arnie two thumbs up. We need to assist those who are here legally. You did the fiscal responsible thing. Bravo!

How about slashing off welfare and using those funds to assist in this "dream act." At least these kids will be educated, employed, and pay taxes. Welfare enables laziness and lifetime dependence on public monies/taxes.

The Governator's not a total waste!

I'm definitely relieved that the Governor veteod that act. It just wouldn't be fair to the thousands of LEGAL California citizens that can barely afford college WITH Financial Aid and loans. I mean it sucks for them, but you can't be in the USA illegally and expect to be rewarded for it
