Tennessee Student Is Focus of Palin E-mail Hack Investigation
The FBI has searched the apartment of a 20-year-old University of Tennessee student in connection with the hacking of Sarah Palin's Yahoo E-mail account, according to WBIR and CNet. Agents searched the apartment of David Kernell early Sunday morning. Kernell also happens to be the son of Democratic Tennessee state Rep. Mike Kernell. No charges have been filed, but three of his roommates were subpoenaed to testify to a grand jury this Tuesday.
Witnesses say agents came to the apartment around midnight during a party, took down the names of partygoers, and spent almost two hours taking photos of the place, according to the Washington Post.
Agents are trying to identify who gained access to the vice presidential candidates' E-mail account by using her birthdate, ZIP code, and information about where she met her spouse—all public knowledge at this point—to reset her password to "popcorn."

hacking of Sarah Palin's Yahoo E-mail
The young man should be investigated. If he did what was reported, he should be prosecuted and if guilty, be sentenced to a maximun jail sentence.
Bwahahahahahaha!!!!
This just goes to show how out of joint the republican ticket is when it comes to basic internet security. It is likely her original password was love, sex, god or money. McCain can't even send an e-mail, so how is he supposed to be able to understand and navigate today's wired world. What would he have done if the report had been an email entitled "Bin Ladin to Attack on US soil." Would he be too caught up sending aid to Nigeria because their corrupt government wouldn't allow his business partner to claim the $16m USD that they stole during some revolution or another. (IOW, a 409 scam).
Walls of communication formed by prejudice or even language are breaking down, people are expanding their horizons and their knowledge by connecting. If you say there are 500k white elephants in Africa, by George, you'd better be sure you're right. Furthermore, technology has brought many to a new understanding. We are able to fight oppression and petition for a redress of grievances like never before. If there's a bill that legislates morality or infringes on civil rights, it's not going to just sneak past any more. Watchdog groups can communicate in ways McCain's generation never would have thought possible.
Just my $2 (Adjusted for Inflation)
