Kansas Cuts Back on Air Conditioning
The University of Kansas is raising the thermostat in most buildings to 78 degrees and adjusting air flow, worried that rising utility rates could cost the university an extra $2 million next year. Although students are literally sweating out the first few weeks of school, university officials expect to save $3,000 a week in energy costs from the air conditioning change alone.
