Minnesota Backs Out of New Victoria’s Secret Clothing Line

Victoria vs. Colleges'
After visting the Victoria Secret website and looking at their clothing line for college wear. I think that it is just another way for victoria secret to find profit in selling their product. After being in a few of their stores with my wife, a majority of age groups that were in the store is teens to 20's. So my thought is that its just another angle V.S. is approaching to sell to they're most valued customer.
I say that the U of MN made a wise decision to not participate in the idea. Their incorruptibility doesn't adhere to V.S.'s moral background.
minnesota
That's because all the girls in Minnesota are either Fat or pregnant and that doesn't fall in line with Victoria Secret's image.

I don't find it demeaning to show the unique female beauty. American society, however, generally sees the VS brand as a representation of "sex" and not female beauty because the general population does not understand or value female beauty. But that's America for you. As genius as the marketing scheme is, I find it disgusting that the marketing of any brand (cough)CocaCola(cough) is allowed to use educational institutions as a means to facilitate promotion in exchange for money and/or funding.
bull
whoever is opposed is old fashioned
I personally fail to see how Victoria's Secret is demeaning to women. It's entire campaign is that women should feel sexy and be confident. This company is growing outrageously fast, represented completely by women. If anything I think it supports young females, it doesn't degrade them.
Look at previous Victoria's Secret model Tyra Banks, she's based her entire multi-million dollar career on the idea that women have power. On both her talk show and America's Next Top Model she repeatedly reinforces the need for confidence and ambition in women. As well as the fact that plus size women are beautiful, smashing the idea that this part of the fashion world gives young girls an unhealthy idea of attractive body image.
Whoever came up with the idea to combine Victoria's Secret with the nation's leading universities, is a marketing genius. Victoria's Secret is one of our country's largest growing company's. To have the University of Minnesota logo on something so widely distributed can only be seen as a benefit. Perhaps the clothing will even encourage young women to work and apply at some of these prestigious colleges, not just contribute to school spirit.
Come on, even the Ivy league has joined in. I'm going to go buy a sweatshirt.
I have seen the products
Even when the products themselves aren't revealing, they are still made by a company that is disreputable and demeaning to women. A hoodie and some sweatpants do not mitigate the overall offensiveness of the company, its practices and its marketing.
Have you seen the products?
A hood sweater, a pair of sweat pants, a men's style t-shirt and tote bag are tge items still on sale at Victoria Secret's website. Very conservative; other products were to be sold at stores. My daughter will be a freshman this fall and I don't see anything terrible about her wearing the hoodie on campus.

The article said nothing about high prices. They mentioned body image issues and marketing choices. What are you talking about?
